Description: It was Samuel Lloyd who began the transformation of Corby, from a sleepy village in Rockingham Forest into a modern, industrial town. Stewart & Lloyds (the successor to Lloyds Ironstone Company) built many of the houses, as well as the school and sports ground in the vicinity of the Wetherspoon pub.The original village of Corby gets its name from 'Kori', the leader of the Danish invaders who settled in a Rockingham Forest clearing. Corby remained a village until the arrival of Samuel Lloyd, in the 1880s, when the new ironstone industry developed to dominate life in Corby, until the closure of the iron and steelworks in 1980.This wetherspoon, opened in July 2008, is completely new and is a gas-free site, it has an extrodinary design to traditional pubs to mark both its individuality, and to tie in with the concept of glass use in the building of some of corbys' landmark sites (cube/swimming pool)

“Typical Wetherspoons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2014 NEW

Very busy and sometimes do not have enough staff on so you wait ages to get served, not their fault I know. Food is good and drinks always have good offers.

“Good place to eat and meet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2014

Great pub/eatery.

Good food at a decent price. Have always found this pub to be busy. Staff usually ask if your food is okay. For all that it's a very big pub, it still feels personable.

“uninspired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2014

this is our third visit, first time was a busy Saturday, this time was a weekday lunch, as was our last trip Just as busy, short staffed on the bar, slow service. Rude customers who try queue jump, and the staff aren't necessarily able to work out who is next so you have to speak up or mr old grumpy rude man walks straight to the front while you have waited 10 minutes already. Food was ok, but we have now given it 3 tries, and I don't think we will bother going back.
