Hydro (it was originally a spa hotel) dates back to 1878. Located within 10 acre of grounds. Hotel is a Grade II listed building, which in recent years has received a £12 million refurbishment programme.
Located a 10-15 minute walk from Dunblane city centre.
Myself and a friend stayed 2 nights (Thurs/Fri) in a twin room (416) on a bed & breakfast deal.
Long tree-lined drive up to hotel. Well-maintained gardens.
Large sloped grass area at front of hotel, although walking on it 'may cause injury', according to a hotel warning sign.
Some parking available at front of hotel by main entrance. Main car park at rear of hotel, although more obvious signage to its whereabouts would be useful to first-time visitors. All hotel parking is free.
Received a 'famous' Doubletree Cookie at check-in!
Friendly local staff.
Room 416 contained:

Occasional noise from the adjacent room and corridor.
Information about the history of the hotel would be useful.
LivingWell Fitness centre in need of an upgrade. Small gymnasium means customers are on top of one another, changing rooms with some mold and broken tiles, some broken lockers and rust in pool ceiling.
NB. I recommend The Village Inn (restaurant at rear) in Dunblane for reasonably priced, freshly-cooked evening meal away from the hotel.
Dunblane Cathedral - a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
