“money rob from room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

nice hotel on the outside, work away a lot, stay in a lot of hotels ,all over the uk,never had anything stolen before, untill i stayed here, left my wallet in my bag with £20 in it,went to work, came bk to my room after work, thought id go for a pint took my wallet out my bag,and my £20 had gone, could not believe it,the fact that someone had gone into my bag ,in my room, informed managers,(yes there was two of them), which they took details,i informed them that if they did not get to the bottom of it,i would inform the police, they told me they would come and see me ,when i got back from work, the following evening, with an update, what they did not tell me they had the day off,so after spending a couple of hours waiting for them i decided to ask at reception, who informed me they was off,and bought another manager out,so that was 3 so far,and still gettin nowhere,so i told him to phone the ploice, which produced another manager,at the end of the day,i decided not to bother,my advice to anyone that stays here,DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR ROOM,NOT EVEN YOUR BAGS,THEY MIGHT GO IN IT..!!,im still here till sunday, not by choice, keep away from room 229,its bad luck, ive cursed it...!!!

Room Tip: not room 229

Not a bad hotel - good location for legoland and coral reef - just a bit tired and in need of refurb. To be fair this is refelceted in the price - we got a family room for £71.... so compared to premier inn / travelodge - this is great value. Noise is a real problem with lots of noise from car park on one side and the corridor on the other. More reflective of the guests that the hotel though, as most people know it's impolite to let kids use the corridor as a playground late at night and that drunken fish wives wailing on their way back to the rooms gone midnight is generally not pleasant.

This hotel is relatively reasonably priced, and has a reasonable gym given that it is included in the hotel fee. The hotel is long overdue for an upgrade - especially in the rooms. The rooms are generally clean and in reasonable repair, but everything is quite old and needs to be upgraded. The lobby and bar area is adequate and in better condition than the rest of the hotel. The restaurant is also reasonable and serves good food.

I stayed here recently as I work occasionally near Reading. The service is not bad, but I did not receive an upgrade with HHonors gold membership as usual, though I didn't ask why to be fair.
The place generally seemed a bit tired, and the room furniture was getting on a bit. My (small) room was overlooking a busy dual carriageway, and even with double glazing, traffic was loud enough to wake me at 5am.
Hot breakfast items were only just warm.
This hotel is barely a 3 star establishment, which is not always a bad thing if the price is right. But with the Reading Hilton around 10 pounds more, and being a good all round 4 star with bigger, modern and more comfortable rooms (also excellent breakfast) it's normally a no brainer. This hotel was unfortunately full for that evening.
If you can manage the extra bit of mileage further out from Bracknell, you may well get better for around the same price, or at least the same quality at a cheaper rate.
Horses for courses....

This was a pleasant and hassle free stay in room 484 with my partner and sons.
Excellent value for money given the location and standard. Free parking to boot and close to attractions.
The room was clean, comfortable and spacious.
Family Room consisted of a massive double bed and then a double sofa bed for my two sons.
Good room service and plush bathroom save for some slightly uneven tiles, but large and powerful shower with side jets.
Overall this was a pleasant and hassle free stay.
Chose to take a swim on the Saturday night, not realising children shouldn't be in the pool from 8 onwards. Arriving at 8.10 I was fearful we may have encountered a jobs worth at the Pool reception, but given that there was nobody else in the pool at the time, the attendant allowed us a quick dip and then allowed us to stay given the children were well behaved and kept out of the way. I thought this was a nice, common sense touch for a large hotel.
Also bar staff were very helpful and changed TV channels when we asked. The two gents on the bar were keen to help and have service with a smile.
Apart from a few lads smoking outside using colourful language (there was a large function on the first night of the stay) and a suspicious herbal smell coming from one room, which is out of the control of the hotel to a degree, this was an excellent value for money stay in London. Enjoyable, many thanks.

Stayed as part of a package with Legoland. Very welcoming staff who were attentive throughout our stay.. Excellent buffet breakfast and very reasobaly priced restaurant. One minor issue: The matress on the rollaway bed is very thin. Ask for two.

I had booked a theme park break with Thorpe Park and stayed at the Hilton Bracknell. The reception and lobby area of the hotel is lovely. Very clean, modern and spacious. Lots of sofas and chairs to sit and watch the large TVs. We were checked in very smoothly and the reception staff were so friendly and welcoming.
Our room on the other hand was rather grim. It was a very small room, which was fine and as we were on the top floor the ceiling sloped down to the window as though it was an attic shaped room. This was ok as we were only staying for one night. The bed area was fine. However, the bathroom was not. The bath was absolutely disgusting. It had a large black stained hole at one end and a huge green slimy stain from the tap into the plug hole where the tap was constantly dripping. The thought of actually getting into this bath/shower turned my stomach. The fan on the wall had it's cover missing and so was just a hole and simple things like the tissue box hasn't even refilled.
We went downstairs to explain and both members on the desk couldn't be more helpful. They gave us an upgraded room as an apology. Their customer service skills really do save this hotel. The new room was larger, but still wasn't fantastic. The tap was broken in the bathroom for example.
We ate sandwiches in the bar area and an egg baguette was £6. Reasonable, as it was huge and served with crisps and salad. We also ate breakfast in The Larder. I found this fantastic, they serve everything you could want for breakfast and it was all so delicious. We went to breakfast at 7.30 on Sunday and it was quiet, but by 8.00 it was packed! My advice is, if you have to be somewhere, get down to breakfast early!
Overall this hotel has some real positives such as amazing staff and restaurants, but the rooms and corridors really need refurbishing and quite urgently. I'm not sure I'd choose this hotel again unless these basic upgrades happen.
