My adult daughter, and grandson and I arrived around 5.30 and checked in for a one night stay as we were attending my uncle's funeral the following morning. The hotel has a fresh, new appeal, and modern facilities. The dining area was a pleasant surprise, breakfasts very satisfactory, but the veggie menu in the evening only has one choice, which fortunately was acceptable. The beds are great, the heating very easy to adjust, and the reading lights thoughtful. The absence of bedside sockets though was a little frustrating as there is just one double socket which accommodates the kettle, leaving just one for your own appliances, such as mobile phones. The little shelf on top of the bed was a brilliant idea in functional space-saving, as was the custom built hanging area/wardrobe, and cleverly designed desk which all matched the custom built trims on mirror and other areas.
Lovely modern bathroom in tip top condition. However, be careful if having a child in the bath , as when you turn off the tap it is almost impossible not to accidentally press a little button that changes it to shower mode, and you end up activating a "cold shower attack". A nasty surprise for anyone really.
The staff are of all nationalities and very kind, smiley and super helpful. I struggled to get my key to work though, so had to wait each time till someone else was going through the door to the lifts/staircase! The restaurant and bar staff were great. I was served by a very smiley oriental lady, who was very eager to make sure I was happy. At that time I was the only female in the restaurant, as it was a Thursday, so apparently populated by business customers only.
The hotel was easy to find using the Sat Nav code supplied at time of booking, had an adequate car parking adjacent to the entrance which is at the back of the hotel, so all in all a very pleasant experience.
