“Peacock Farm Bracknell”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

From the outside - looks boring and it is in a weird area really....but go in and see why it is wise to book over weekends - very popular. The best of pub / gastro pub. Very well decorated and good food served efficiently.
Above average home made gastro pub food - well cooked and presented.
The taster mini puddings good to share.
Parking no problem,

“Overpriced = Ain't value for money.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

The food is below par. I dont mind paying for good food but this place is a joke.

This place thrives on customers from the local business park and has the opportunity to capitalize the situation. Unfortunately the food is just tasteless and its not even that they have a wide range of drinks.

Who would pay aprox £14 at lunch hour for a burger that lacks any skill or taste, accompanied with bland tin sized portion of chips and sweet salsa.

My advise , Just avoid. Mcdonalds tastes better.

To even rub it in further the service is just third class, wont even help you find a table, have £5 minimum spend to pay by card and dont accept American Express.

“Tasty food with good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We arrived without a booking but were accommodated despite them being busy. The food was good as was the service with the prices being pretty reasonable. It is a 'gastropub' so don't expect too much from the menu. I would definitely visit again.

“Clean & friendly, food can be dissappointing sometimes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Local friendly pub that is suitable for families & friends, not aimed at couples. I usually only go here for drinks as the food isn't top notch and can be overpriced in comparisson to other local pubs. The decor is gorgeous and that sets a good vibe, however the staff sometimes let the pub down by their general ignorance. Also, the sunday roast is really nothing to brag about I'm afraid.

Would reccomend this pub to a family with children or someone seeking an unsual pub experience due to different atmosphere.

“Very overpriced for Christmas dinner and tasteless”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

I shall make this short and sweet-

- Very overpriced- £50 a head
- Yorkshire pudding tasted like cardboard
- Brussel sprouts nearly broke a tooth they were so hard
- Impressive looking gateaux was disappointingly tasteless.
- Practically a teaspoon of gravy so had to ask for more
- Felt like we were being rushed through the courses, as soon as are starter had been cleared the main was in front of you and you were out within a hour.
- They sat us at the wrong table and brought the wrong starters we had pre-ordered.

Last year we went to a Indian restaurant where you could have Indian or traditional Christmas dinner, this was only £25 a head, bigger portions, more flavour and more relaxed atmosphere.

We will not be returning to the peacock farm if visiting reading in the future
