“Good but a bit scratched”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Excellent location, good service but if you look into details you can see that the hotel is getting a bit older and that it is well used. When I visited it was completely booked. Breakfast was ok, service could be a bit speedier. Overall probably a bit expensive for what you get

Staff at the business-style Zurich Airport Radisson Blu have a rather perfunctory attitude but this is typically Swiss and done in the name of efficiency. Soulless but professional, like all mainstream airport hotels, you can actually walk from the hotel to check-in, which is a great plus, particularly as our travelling companion is currently wheelchair-bound. The design of the upstairs corridors is not very inviting... grey and stark and very samey wherever you are. The room numbers are really hard to see because they are printed in black on a silver backlit panel; why aren't they cut out so the light shines through the numbers and you can actually READ THEM?! The rooms are nice and clean... mine with a view of the huge atrium. The bar area in the atrium is dominated by a massive glass tower, stacked to the top with wine bottles and illuminated by changing coloured lights. Two pretty girl dancers slide up and down the structure to music on moving harnesses, gyrating acrobatically as they collect bottles of wine for customers, which they then deliver gracefully to your table. This was certainly a high point! We moved on to dinner at the Filini restaurant which was really very good indeed. I had the medium rare entrecote steak cooked to perfection and followed it with the rather naughty but delicious Tiramisu. Not cheap at £185 B&B but good.

While I am still giving it four stars, I was not as thrilled with it as I had expected to be. The room was very clean, but some of the furnishings were dinged up, as were the walls, doors and molding in the dark hallways. Even the wood desks/stands of the hotel staff (the check-in/check-out desks were pretty well worn). I did not try the restaurants. In the lobby, the whole wine tower with acrobatics to me seemed silly rather than "cool." The exercise room was pretty small but adequate. Front desk staff was quite friendly. When I checked in, they asked if I wanted a room with a shower or bath. I said shower. I got a room with a small bath/shower combo. Overall, I was just expecting more given the brand and the price.

Great location to the airport. Carpets are a bit smelly, damp like. So could do with a good clean Would still stay again due to convenience. Meeting rooms have a great view of the zurich airport runway.

Convenient location, in the heart of the Zurich airport, few steps from the airport shops and all the train connections. Very polite and helpful staff at the reception, good breakfast. Cool is a wine tower that is shinning in front of the reception and bar, where there is a girl doing acrobatics to fetch a bottle of wine. Great choice of restaurants in the hotel. If you get stuch there for a night or need to spend a night before the fright, you will be nicely surprised.

Immaculate room and bath. Crisp linens on a very comfortable bed. Easy access from and to the terminal. Very quite interior facing room. Front desk accommodated every request. Use of airport luggage carriers from baggage area to escalator directly to lobby. Steps away from airport amenities including restaurants, stores, etc.

Located just a few minutes from the Zurich Arrivals hall, I arrived at 7am after a long haul flight to welcoming staff and my room immediately available. My room was quiet and very comfortable, and the included breakfast was excellent. The proximity to the Airport shops, cafes and supermarket/food store was wonderful. The most convenient aspect, however was the rail system, which is located directly below the shopping precinct. Here you can board trains directly to Zurich HB, a regular service into the centre of Zurich, and to other Swiss regional destinations.
