“New Hotel at a great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We stayed at this hotel on our recent visit to Malta over the New Year. The hotel was full and proved to be excellent value at 80 Euros for bed and breakfast. As it is a new hotel everything is in top condition. The ultra modern room was bright with everything you could need, TV with BBC and ITV, SKY News etc. Fridge, comfortable beds. Unfortunately not much of a view. The breakfast was good, particularly the pastries and hot chocolate. The bar is again very modern and not very cosy, but served free bits of food and had good service. The staff were all helpful and efficient. St Julians can be a bit noisy around new year but we slept very well.
The Hotel is not finished yet but in our experience this was not an issue.
All things considered - Great value.

Room Tip: I think all rooms will be ok as they are all new. We had rooms on the fifth floor which were excelle...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We stayed in this hotel mid November, A beautiful time to visit Malta with a milder climate to explore this enchanting island. Activities which tend to be more difficult in the hot summer months. It is also a perfect time to take in Malta's culture as the villages and monuments are quieter allowing us to fully appreciate the Maltese Archipelago.

Malta's remarkable history is rich in myth and the contrast between new and old can be seen everywhere. The Hotel Valentina has a beautiful modern design and the futuristic feel of this hotel is in stark contrast to the other treasured sites of Malta. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and contained all amenities for comfortable modern living, including a very large flat screen TV.

The Hotel Valentina is located in St. Julian's, a fantastic area of Malta, we paid €2.20 and hopped on a bus from the airport which dropped us 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The next day we paid €2.60 for a day ticket for the bus which brought us to Sliema (twenty minutes away) where we went shopping and out on the harbour. We then went to Valletta, the capital, then to Mdina, the walled medieval city. That night we stayed in St. Julians for dinner and went to Portomasso harbour, a short walk from the hotel, which had the most amazing restaurants set in a stunning location. The weather was still warm but there were also some heaters and we ate outside. St. Julian's also boasts a fantastic nightlife in Paceville where the streets are lined with bars and clubs.

The staff of the hotel were lovely, we had a very nice buffet breakfast there and I would highly recommend it.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Stayed for 6 nights in early october. Was allocated a new room on the 4th floor looking over the courtyard at back of hotel. Room was spacious, clean, everything new, shower was amazing very powerful. Bed was two singles pushed together for a double so not great as one of you inevitably lands in the gap in the middle. Minor grumble as most hotels adopt this practice but would be good to have a proper double. Air con worked a treat after very hot sunny days out. Nice wall mounted flat screen tv, digital radio with apple dock and a good sized fridge for storing juice etc. free safe in room and enough room for suitcases etc.

Room overlooked courtyard, first night we had issues with smokers sitting in area and chatting which reverbated up to the rooms as its enclosed on 4 sides. This went onto 3am. Complained next morning but they said nothing they could do as it was the only smoking area for hotel. Don't know what was wrong with standing out front of hotel away from rooms. Subsequent nights were ok on this front but beware if there are people sitting there they don't need to be shouting for it to cause problems sleeping in rooms above.

No balcony on new rooms but nice roof top seating area around baby pool, great views over malta from here.

Free wifi in rooms and 2 Apple Macs in reception area free of charge. Printing facilities also available for boarding passes etc and checking in.

Hotel was nearly100% complete other than completion to ground floor restaurant bar area. No noise issues encountered with this other than minor noise whilst at breakfast as breakfast area over looks bar.

Majority of reception staff were fantastic other than one who was a bit off on occasions. They were happy to provide directions and ensure stay was pleasant. They even provided us with plates for our chinese takeaway one night which was fantastic. No restaurant on site yet so they were happy to provide plates etc. hotel has restaurant round corner the avenue, generally don't eat at hotel restaurants but this one was so busy every night we passed we gave it a go. Food was good, plentiful and reasonable 10% discount for hotel stayers.

No worries on location, it's on a quiet street a few streets away from party central. Close enough if you want to go but far enough away to get a good nights sleep.

St julians is brilliant base for malta exploring, plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, shops, sandy beach 5 mins walk away, cinema etc etc and buses to rest of island. Valletta 25 mins, mdina 1hr airport 1hr.

Great 3 star hotel, would say its not far off a 4 star with a bit of work. Great location, big clean rooms and pleasant staff. Breakfast was ok, and of average quality, had a lot better in terms of selection however for a 3 star acceptable. Fantastic hot chocolate highly recommend and fresh pastries.

Will return to hotel if back in malta in the future. Well done hotel valentina.

Awesome hotel. Enough said! Stayed here with my rugby team and it was very comfortable and affordable. Very close to all of the night life and food. Breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful to our needs.

My husband and I spent six nights at this hotel and were pleasantly impressed. The hotel has been renovated with a modern decor and now has a cafe. They're in the process of establishing a cocktail bar. The service at the hotel is good, the receptionists are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is substantial with pastries etc replenished regularly. The room was small but bright, clean and adequate. I think the hotel was value for money.

Valentina hotel is still undergoing some construction works. But they are not disturbing and hardly to be noticed. We liked the modern hall and swimming pool at the top floor. The cheapest rooms have windows facing the interior part of the building and due to that are not so bright. The rooms are sizeable, modern and clean. Selection of food for breakfast is satisfactory and the food is fresh. WiFi works quite well. The hotel is associated with The Avenue restaurant just nearby which serves very decent food.

Bistro in next street good value food. Plunge pool on roof not for swimming. Convenient location.
Hotel deserves success.
