If you go to this restaurant you will be given a very warm welcome by Mario and his family. They offer a good variety of dishes, including some genuine Maltese recipes. Fish is a speciality - and the daily choice depends what was best at the market that day. We went several times while we were at St Julians and every meal was great. It was good value, plenty to eat, and no hurry to get you out of the door as soon as you finish. On Thursdays there is a special 3 course meal with entertainment - you need to book for this in advance though. We had a really good laugh with the other diners, involving cowboy hats, painted moustaches, and singing - don't expect a flashy night out, it's more like visiting extended family and messing about. Mario is also brilliant at providing information about Malta, telling 'dad' jokes, organising airport taxis, and also boat and coach trips if you fancy them. He also does a really good English breakfast in the morning. The only downside is the loo - but unfortunately that seems to be a general Malta issue.
