“A very friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

We enjoyed a super week here. Malta is beautiful and the hotel staff go out of their way to help. The decor was tired and food choice perhaps not as good as other all inclusive but overall it's great value.

Where shall I begin, Staff unfriendly, except 1 barman, Food ok, but very repetative, e.g chips, pizza fast food.. Room was very basic, no cleaners except 1 visit. Had to request toilet rolls, towels..Expected room to have these, replaced. Out door pool closed..Had to use a sister hotel, Indoor pool, Not heated...Freezing.. Gym not free, have to pay 5 euro's per day. Entertainment, rubbish. bingo, karaoke, staff trying to entertain. Speaking of entertainment, Hotel is surrounded by " Gentlemens Clubs," and night clubs, so its very noisy in the early hours. Fell in toilets due to wet floor, Grazed and bruised side, and arms..Mentioned to reception who walked off..No apology, or concern. .
I know this hotel is very cheap, but be warned, it really is one to avoid at all costs.

Where do I begin....would not recommend, our rooms were not cleaned, essentials were not replenished unless asked for at front desk, staff are unhelpful, unfriendly or rude - most of them are young seems like they're on holiday themselves and do not care about making your stay comfortable. My mum slipped on a wet floor and a staff member just looked at her no apology whatsoever. Food is acceptable if you can eat anything, feels like eating in a cafeteria. We needed help opening our doors because they are so stiff, maintenance guy showed up 3 hours later banging on the door when we were asleep. Entertainment was crap, lounge bar wasnt a pleasant place to sit. Nightclubs all around the hotel could hardly sleep.... To be fair, the hotel may be better in summer months but its really not a nice place in Feb

Room Tip: near the water, away from clubs

Came back yesterday - did 4 nights, 5 days all inc. Had read the reviews so was expecting the worse. Was great little break - staff friendly, food was fine - always somet to scoff - my daughter is picky and she filled her boots every meal-time - beds well comfy - water piping hot - the discolored grouting and couple of cracked tiles irrelevant to us - view from balcony beautiful - we were on 8th floor - lift didn't work one day for a couple of hours that's all - real family orientated place - could relax with cocktails at night knowing kids had plenty to do and safe - entertainment funny - I got my 5 minutes of fame heh heh. If you want a cheap n cheerful break I definietly recommend staying here - if you want the Hilton - book the Hilton!! Only downside was indoor pool was freezing - I braved it but my daughter couldn't hack it!!

OMG, spent a week here recently with my partner.. It was awful! Main hotel we booked into after we arrived was closed for the winter so there was no gym, no pool and we were moved to the rubbish sister hotel across the road. Only an outdoor pool full of dirty water and condoms. We could use a local gym at an extra £5 per day. All inclusive food and drink was awful, chips with every meal and unidentifiable food stuffs everyday, we had upset stomachs all week. We were put on the 8th floor but none of the lifts worked for most of the week. We were denied lunch on the last day as we checked out at 11 even though we were booked in until 5. My partner slipped on the wet lobby floor, broke her nose and was knocked out, the staff were more worried about covering their liability. Be very careful about booking and staying here. It is very dirty, unfriendly and cheap!!!

Room Tip: Don't go!!!

Dear sir

Thank you for your comments , we genuinely welcome all feed back positive or otherwise

In the first instance I would like to highlight that St Georges Park and La Vallette are actually run as one Bluesea Hotel Resort , therefore a guest may be allocated in either building, whilst utilizing the facilities of either.

Neither St George Park nor the gym have been closed so I am somewhat bemused by your comments regarding such.

Our catering agents provide a varied and daily menu to satisfy multiple nationalities. Where we strive to do so, you must appreciate that it is not always possible to adhere to all individual tastes. However, we certainly welcome all feed back ,which help us to continue with improvements.

As you are aware we provide a wide range of spirits, beers ,wines available until 11pm on all inclusive status.

Contrary to your reference to our staff not caring in case of accidents , this is simply not the case , of course we always advise and seek medical assistance in addition to logging all details and following Health and safety protocol . Should a guest refuse medical attention , against advise then we , as would any establishment , be required to record the incident for reference.

Where you may have noticed, we are in the process of installing new elevators as one of our many improvements.

Our other lifts are serviced on a regular basis and should maintenance be necessary then the lifts would be closed periodically and not all at once , to maintain service for our guests. Although not obvious, there is an additional lift away from the main reception area other than the 4 they mention, signs were placed accordingly

Our management team work around the clock to address any issues a guest may have ,therefore it is with regret that you did not avail yourselves of their service , and afford us the opportunity to solve any problems you may have encountered prior to you departure .

Kind regards

This busy hotel should fare much better than it does. It is a bust hotel with many people coming and going and from the feedback I got not many will return. Only one lift works out of four. They have been promising for months that the lifts would be sorted out but very often that lift breaks down too. The hotel is on 9 floors with many elderly, middle aged and young children. THIS SHOULD BE A PRIORITY but as I witnessed the other day the directors and managers couldn't care less. A director looking type was fussing over a side door not opening and he tried it a few times to see f he could get it to work. When I asked about the lifts I was totally blanked and di not receive a reply. There priorities are in the wrong place, The breakfasts are pretty poor as well. How any chef can mess up scrambled egg to make it like rubber God alone knows. Bacon is greasy. obviously bacon that is injected with water then baked rather than grilled. The sausages are like small frankfurter sausages and taste dreadful and most times not even warm. The breads on offer are delicious and I suggest if you have to stay here have beans on toast but make sure you put the bread through the toaster 3 times to get anything resembling toast rather than hot bread. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable enough. Be very careful if you want a wake up call as I asked for one and I watched the girl at reception log it but alas no wake up call. Lunch and dinner are a little better than breakfast but not a whole lot. At least something on the menus was edible. The all inclusive includes local drinks and they are fine with the rose wine really nice. The coffee is atrocious and any hotel that serves Nescafe to its customers should be delisted. The tea bags were so weak that it took a lot of stirring to get colour. On the plus side the hotel staff are very obliging and lovely. There is a list of entertainment up but where it happens we never discovered. The evening show is the same every night. 15 minutes of the kids disco with the same tunes followed by a lull of 25 minutes while they try and sell bingo tickets. Then one game of bingo and karaoke or a so called comedy show. Malta is a beautiful island with lovely people and a fabulous history well worth investigating. Its a pity that such a poor hotel spoils it for everyone. The hotel has the facilities and space to be a wonderful hotel if the directors would part with some cash. If they did so then their investment could pay off big time but as things are at present there will not be much return business.

Room Tip: My advice is to get a room on the lowest floor possible as the lifts don't work. Have beans on t...

my wife and i just return yesturday from a week holiday at the la vallette hotel on all inclusive board. i just want to begin the review with the bad things first, the hotel is in an area that doesn`t appeal to people of our age, we are 55 years and over, as it is in the mecca of the night life in malta. in weekends many young people just come to the hotel after their outing to get only sleep but as they passed through the corridors of the hotel they make many noises with shouting and running in corridors. at this moment opposite the hotel is under construction and all the day with noises of the machinery and confusion with the traffic.about the stuff, the cleaners and maids don`t clean good, the maids don`t even change the bed sheets and pillow covers after guest check out,and this is for sure that every guest sleeps on the same bed sheets and pillows.the bar tenders there are 4 or 5, one of them don`t speaks english well, so it`s difficult to understand him, and other one count the drinks that you order, he think that you are drinking free. in the restaurant, in the morning ( at breakfast ) there is no cakes, there is suppose snacks during the day, its only some small pieces of sandwiches with ham or cheese from the bar, and when one go to take a piece, some of the bar tenders will stair at you.
the late night buffet, as you enter the restaurant you can see the menu, and you can read that apart from the meals you can have fruits and sweets, but sweets never saw, and every time that the headwaiter on duty is richy, he don`t let you take fruits,as he argue that those are for the breakfast next morning. but when on duty will be a lady i don`t know her name, she let us take
fruit.about the toilets, why the ladies toilet is being cleaned by men and not by ladies.you don`t
find toilet paper in most of the time, even in your room, you have to ask in the reception sometimes for a roll of toilet paper and towels.and the entertainment is fiasco and stop there.
the positive is, that food is very good even cakes are good,(although sometimes there will be no cakes for every one), and the waiters are all nice with guests apart from richy, and the ladies in the reception are helpfull and the maltese manager is ok too.

Room Tip: i was in the 3rd floor balcony facing pool and it was noisy in evening coming from outside.
