We have recently returned from yet another fantastic holiday at this great hotel. We have been visiting this hotel since 2003 and have never had need to complain, we are totally relaxed from the minute we check in. When we visited this year our son returned with us after an absence of three years accompanied by his girlfriend who had never visited Malta before and everyone made her feel very welcome. We would like to thank all the staff for making us so welcome with a special mention to old time friends Martin in the Bistro, all staff in the Kon Tiki, especially Jesmond, Mario Lucy, Alan and Natasha and Joseph who made ever meal a special occasion. The food and service at this hotel is exceptional with all needs catered for.

We would also like to take this opportunity to give a big Thank You to Marika for going out of her way to make our stay so comfortable. Thank you to Dorianne for catering to our needs on the day we left.

We look forward to returning to our second home sometime next year.

Me and my partner stayed here 8 nights and we didn't want to leave anymore. Everything was perfect. The food...I have no words! We were on half board, which means we had breakfast and dinner included. There is such a large variety of foods, it's impossible not to feel satisfied. And the sweets! Oh my, I would eat 3 cakes at every dinner.
People there are friendly and will help you with any problem you may have.
I noticed some were not pleased with the way the room looks. It's a simple, big, clean room. You go to Malta to visit the island and go to the beach and have fun, not to stay all day in your room. As long as it's nice, cozy and clean, I'd say it's all good.
We were pleased about everything and left Malta with a very positive feeling mostly because of this hotel.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu in St Julian's bay in July 2013 (23rd, for a week).

What a fantastic hotel. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, we experienced nothing but the very warmest hospitality. Malta is a truly beautiful country and we spent a week exploring it to the fullest ... St Julian's is the perfect base and I can't imagine there is a better hotel in Malta than the Radisson Blu. The staff were helpful, pleasant and genuine ... the room was perfect - a gorgeous balcony view overlooking the sea, the pool and lido (which we still managed to spend time in every day) were beautiful and in general, all the facilities exceeded our expectations.

If we could class this as a 'six star' hotel, we would. We looked forward to the almost endless selection at breakfast, managed to book excursions seamlessly at reception and as well as enjoying meals in St Julians, we had fantastic choice and service at the Kon Tiki and Le Bistro restaurants in the hotel - so much choice and the food was truly world class!

We hope to return to Malta the year after next and will be booking at the Radisson Blu and no-where else ... no-where else could possibly come close.

A big shout out to Daniel, Aaron, Desi Campbell (great entertainment) and most of all to Ray, one of the hotel drivers, who went out of his way to show us so much that we would otherwise have missed. An absolute credit to the Radisson.

Thank you so much for everything and hope to see you all again soon,

Ali, Andrea and Maia

Room Tip: Third floor (was perfect) ... frankly we'd have been happy in ANY room ... so very impressed.

Ok it's pretty much been covered in other reviews but this is not a five star hotel or anywhere near it. I won't go into the full details but to summarise:
No breakfast available before 7am unless you pay full room service cost
Totally inadequate number of sunbeds
€5, yes €5 for a 750 ml bottle of water in room
Cheap wooden flooring in bedrooms
CRT tv with no channels worth viewing. Pay movie choice a joke.
Ac that did not work properly. Really noisy
Worse location of any of its rivals
Totally overpriced drink, food not as bad but still has a big markup
No fresh juices at breakfast
Bed linen 2 star quality. 2 single duvets!!
Lift and revolving doors constantly out of order. Heard many guests saying the same
Happy hour every night but glasses dirty.

Stay at the Hilton Or Westin if you want 5 star hotel. A little more expensive but worth the extra.

I was here on business so thankfully not out of my pocket but noise at night and smell of urine in corridor made it less than ideal. Carpets in corridors are all badly stained.

Good points
Staff very good
Sea view excellent

This is basically a tired and dated hotel in need of a full refurb. Shame on you Radisson giving this a five star status. Damages your brand.

Room Tip: Sun is really a factor so try for a sea view on the left. But really stay elsewhere.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying with us. We are sorry to hear that we did not succeed in reaching your expectations in certain areas. Our breakfast time is set at 0700hrs until 1030hrs. Prior to this time we offer a Radisson Grab n' Run breakfast in the lobby served from 0500hrs until 0700hrs. This consists of coffee, cereal bars and fresh fruit. As regards to the other points mentioned these are being shared with the people concerned in an effort to improve on what we can. On a more positive note we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the views and the service provided by our dedicated team members. May we look forward to welcoming you back if you are ever in the area.

Sincerely,

I was planning to propose to my girlfriend this summer on her birthday. Because of that I decided to check all the best hotels in Malta and to see what options I have.
My plan was to book the best suite in one of the hotels and to prepare surprise for her.
After i check all hotels in my list, i decided to go with Radisson Blu Resort in st.Julians.
There are two main reasons for that:
- First one is that the premiere suite in this hotel was looking like excellent place for this, because it has huge terrace with Jacuzzi where we could have our private dinner, and from the terrace, there is amazing sea view.
- The second reason was that from all hotels, I got the feeling that the people in this hotel were the friendliest ones, and have the best mood for cooperation for any special requests that I had in my mind for this event.
On the selected day, after we arrived in the hotel, first we had drinks near the pool, and after that one staff member told us that our table in the restaurant is ready, but instead of that, he lead us to the suite (part of the plan). The suite and the terrace were decorated with rouses and candles. The atmosphere was perfect because when we got on the terrace was exact sunset....there after i surprised her with the question....she said YES :) .
After that we had dinner in our private terrace, the courses were served by dedicated staff member which was very professional in his work.
The food was amazing, we had lobster as main course which was excellent. They even created the cake that I wanted for her, with the decorations on it exactly as I described to them. All in all, the service was great.
I must say thanks to the managers of this hotel, Mr.Vella and Mr. Zammit that have time to listen to all my special requests, and that help me to create the atmosphere that I had in mind for this special night.
In the end I must say that I am glad that I choose this hotel for this special event.
We will return again someday for sure :)

Travelled in April and the weather was perfect. Not a cloud in the sky for 7 days. Hotel was clean and staff very friendly, drinks a bit pricey. Food was good. It is quite a trek to go into St Julians by foot. We went to Valetta for the day and that was really great. We also took the organised tour to Gozo which was a long day on and off the bus but at least we got to see a lot more of the island than if we had gone on our steam. Part of the package was lunch at the Seashells restaurant which was really awful and the free wine was worse than vinegar but we were glad we visited Gozo. We also did the half day trip to the blue grotto which was lovely although the fishing village it stopped at on the way back was not that exciting although we got the cheapest coffee ever there for only 65c. Glad we stayed at the Radison Blu as it was further away from the noise and overlooking the sea, Malta is a fantastic place, the people were really lovely but it is very built up and the traffic was madness. So at least when you are back at the hotel all is quiet.

I have recently returned from a six day break staying at The Radisson Blu with my wife and 8 year old child. We normally spend more time away from a hotel on our holidays but couldn't fault the facilities and attitude of all the staff, especially Eddie in the main restaurant and the guys in the children's activity area. Some of the drinks were on the expensive side but was made up by the happy hour at the pool and the later one in the Bridge bar. The only thing that upset us was a wedding party arriving on our last two days and taking over the majority of the pool and drinking bottles in the pool and generally annoying everyone and some of the lifts not working properly. The breakfasts were fantastic and buffet evening meal was very filling. Excellent room and modern bathroom with great view over the pool and towards the sea. Would return without the drunken impolite folk from Manchester.

Room Tip: Ask for the updated rooms overlooking the pool.
