The destination is everything. The weather at this location is awesome ! Hilton - Malta has a sea front with Yachts parked on its side. It is at a walking distance to a buzzing nightlife. Great place for conventions & conferences !

This is our 2nd stay and definitely won't be our last. We have just come back from 2nights in Hilton. The hotel is excellent with a high standard of cleanliness. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite especially Ryan Fenech (You could feel that he enjoyed his job and that he really cared for the guests). The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and there was good choice. I would certainly think of staying there again. Excellent value for money.

Our first stay at this Hilton Hotel, absolutely amazing. we stayed at the hotel for 1 week with a couple of friends, although the hotel is huge we all felt that we were treated as though we were the most important people staying there, the staff were all amazing and our every request was fulfilled with efficiency and friendliness. There is nothing we could complain about - thank you Hilton for making our holiday. A special thankyou to Tessa who organised everything for us (she is fantastic!!) and also a big thankyou to Fabio in the exec lounge for his welcome approach and friendliness he was great!!

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the relaxation suites which were great, as you have access to the fabulous exec...

Booked the Hilton Hotel on the advice of our Travel Agent. On checking in although it was only for three nights, on knowing it was a special occasion, we were offered an upgrade, to a Executive Room on the 10th Floor. Made the whole three days wonderful. The location and facilities were first class. This is a large Hotel, but there is ample room around the three main swimming pools. Buffet meals suited us completely, very good choice, both at Breakfast and Dinner. Highly Recommended. Only downside, we wished we had stayed longer.

Room Tip: Pay for upper floors we sea views. A MUST

If it wasn't for our three night stay at the Hilton our visit to Malta would have been average.
As per my bad review of "The George" in Paceville, it led my partner and I to book the Hilton and it was the best decision we made. The Hotel and staff combined = very professional, our room was a decent size and clean, and the views of the sea from our room was exactly what we needed and was god send to wake up to each morning. We ate at all the restaurants in the complex and were happy with the quality of food that was served, especially the breakfast when one of the chefs overheard my partner craving for the mushrooms she had the previous morning, so he went out of his way to make a bowl of freshly pan seared mushrooms which was ever so kind of him to do. To top it off the pools and gym area were really good and clean, and our only complaint was a wedding on our first night had a band playing past 2 am which was a little annoying as we were close to the stage area but we got over that quite quickly.

Thanks for a great experience "Hilton Malta"....

This is our fifth time at the Hilton in Malta (the first time was the original hotel before it was demolished for the new Portomaso complex). We had an executive room (464) in the new wing with a sea view - not a brilliant view, overlooking a carpark and the rocky beach where a lot of local kids seemed to gather but then it was a late booking. One thing to note on that side was that although the balcony doors are soundproofed, the noise from the discos in the Westin hotel (including fireworks one night) were pretty loud. Facilities in the room were good - the rain shower excellent and the housekeeping service was top-notch.

Generally the hotel hasn't changed and it still has 5-star facilities. However, and I don't like to be negative there was a few niggles which were more noticable this time.

1. There were a couple of problems with our room - the interactive TV (for checking bill etc didn;t work) and the balcony door didn't lock. I reported this the first night we were there to reception and when nothing was done went back the second night to find the issue hadn't been passed onto maintenance. To be fair Tanja on reception the second time was very efficient and got the door fixed while we were out for a meal (the TV was a general system problem apparently), but having to chase it up was annoying.

2. The pools were just as good and the beach club excellent - although it does get busy with locals and Portomaso residents at weekends. However, getting towels each day (4 for my wife and myself) was an interesting experience. It went from no problem, to "you're only allowed one towel each but it's ok this time" to "50 cents charge for the extra towels" - the latter only happened once and not when the pool manager was there - it looked like a scam being worked by some of the pool boys so perhaps something to watch out for.

3. Drink prices aren't too bad for 5* hotel - €5 around the pool for a large tumbler of iced Diet Coke but €18 for about 8 fried calamari was a bit much - we ended up taking extra fruit from breakfast and eating that instead.

4. Breakfasts were a bit samey - I'm sure in past visits the continental /seafood fare varied a bit more.

5. With an executive room you get access to the executive lounge which is one of the few places with free wifi (why can't they just offer free wifi in all rooms I'm sure it would be a big seller). From 6-8pm nightly this has free drinks and canapes on offer. This was great and the staff there were very friendly and chatty (possibly the more experienced staff?). However the slight downside was that there were several families using the lounge as well with young children - most of the time this was fine but there were a couple of tantrums and kids playing with yapping toys that were clearly annoying to the other guests (especially people trying to make business calls etc). Perhaps the hotel policy needs tightened up for this.

Overall though it was a good stay - whether or not I'd return depends. There are a lot of new top hotels (eg The George) that have appeared in the area and the Hilton needs to ensure its standards are maintained and not allowed to slip.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 7th floor or above for the best views. New wing rooms are numbered from x50 - x66

We had a fantastic stay at the Hilton Hotel, Malta. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble, The Blue Elephant restaurent was lovely and the breakfast choice was great. We would love to go back to malta again and this hotel would be top of our list. There was six of us ladies and we were all very happy with the Hilton and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: we had a twin room facing the harbour on the 8th floor which was fine
