Even if this is not a gastromonic restaurant, 1927 is the best restaurant we tried in Malta. Location on the Spinola bay (3 tables on the terrasse, with the Sliema-Paceville road in front though, but you can see the Harbour - reservation necessary, closed on Mondays) is great, atmosphere wonderful - the bar of a local band in on the same building.Owners are great (I was amused on how one of them is wearing his grasses!!!!). The number of dishes is very small, with special of the day.... so the focus is on the freshness of the food which is far from being the case in the other restaurant of Spinola bay.... We tried veal liver (sad it was too much cooked, but I was given a half price on it), the beef paupiette (excellent) and the rabbit (hard as any rabbit in Malta but very tasteful). Complementary spread as starter.... if you do not eat too much, don't ask for a starter.... you will not be able to finish the main course! If you want to eat "local", don't hesitate to eat at 1927!!!!
