Ok 2014 started with a fabulous week in Malta. During our previous trips to this wonderful island, we have walked passed Ir Rokna many many many times. However, this time we decided to go in and try the food. WOW! My husband had the Cannelloni (excuse my spelling). I didn't have a starter and was very glad because the starter was huge. I wanted to try something new and had a dish that I have never eaten before. The local speciality of Braglioni (spelt correctly). Oh my goodness. It was, to put it simply, absolutely gorgeous. The dish was cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce was simply awesome. I cannot wait to return just to have another plateful. My husband had a pizza which he said was just brilliant. I have never felt so completely stuffed at the end of a meal. We had to walk for about an hour to let the food go down. The atmosphere in the resturant is very relaxed. The staff are all very friendly and enjoy the reaction to their food. They know it's good! You can eat upstairs or down. We ate upstairs because you can be nosy and watch everyone going past outside. I always think it is a very good sign to eat in a resturant where the locals eat and there were plenty having their dinner in Ir Rokna. We will not be walking past this resurant again without going in and having a meal. An absolute must for the next holiday. Try it for yourself and tell me I'm wrong! You won't be able to!
