“ok since company paid”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

Hotel well located in monaco, next to port and old part of monaco.
I was there for work reaons.
Room was good clean, good choice of pillow and tvs
Mine not well located.I was on 3 floor with window on soccer field. training every night until 22 so whistle noise every night and foot ball smashing grill/fences.
Ask for room NOT on that side.
Service in F&B area is a joke. lack of staff very noticeable. breakfast fruit not appealing, presentation and cleaning around buffet not top. nobody to help you seating down most of time, only 2 girls for the week i was there to clean , dress table, replenish, serve coffee.
Hotel was full. When in rush/pick time nowhere to seat since table not clean.
I notified the front office manager.

Dear Fabien L,
Thank you, we are going to review with the city hall about the timing of the football games so that noone gets disturbed, as we never got complaints before. We also reviewed with F&B area and team as they are very concerned in improving the service. Again, thank you and we are looking forward to welcoming you beck soon again. Regards

Monte Carlo is a unique location in the world and we are fortunate that the Marriott hotel chain has provided a place where visitors can experience the local ambiance without having to endure the extremely high prices in the better know accommodations. Located next to the yacht harbor in Cap d'Ail, it is convenient to all attractions. Meeting facilities were exactly what we needed. Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is extremely professional and helpful. Breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view room if available.

Monte Carlo is a place everyone should visit in their lifetimes, if for no other reason than to don a tux and experience a James Bond feeling for a night.

For those of us who aren't billionaires, the Marriott is a great place to stay and very affordable considering it's location.

Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable...it's all you need for a great stay in 'Carlo

Dear Becsiri,

Thank you for choosing our hotel and for sharing your feedback.
We are all very glad that you liked the upgrade and our facilities. Mostly that you apprecaited our staff service, as we always strive to give the best service we can and our restuarant and breakfast.
However, sorry that you were not able to enjoy the Wifi: It is free in the lobby, and in your room it is available against a daily fee of 5€ for 3 MB spped or 15€ streaming per 24 hours.
We apologize if you were not told that there were many restaurants reachable within a 10 minutes’ walk in the nearby Port de Fontvieille. Looking forward to welcome you back soon!
Kind regards,

I was here for business, even if this is fairly far from the center of town I would recommend this for business and also personal My travel agent booked this trip , this place deserves the best recommendation for a great hotel. The front desk was great, and their driver service was off the charts, even if he wasn't supposed to pick you up, he would come back when he was dropping off other guest to see if I was ready for the return trip. My balconey looked over the Cap D'Ali which was simply great. At breakfast, they got to know my order when I arrived. You could walk to some great places, and the recommendations were great. This was right near our offices, within walking distance. Great value for the location, I would stay here again . Views were great, staff ever helpful for a business traveler by herself. Loved it !!

Dear Sheri B,

Thank you for recommending our hotel, be it for business or for leisure. Our Front Desk staff and drivers were very happy that you loved their service and that you felt comfortable. Indeed, even though our shuttle drivers are not supposed to pick you up so that they are back on time at the hotel for the next drive, they always try to accommodate whenever they can.
We are happy to hear you enjoyed the service and quality of our breakfast team.
We are looking forward to your next visit.
With Best Regards,

I rarely do reviews, and have never done one after just one night, but this place deserves it, so here goes. Yes, it's a resort that could use a touch up here and there (understand management has plans for continued renovation), but the varied and abundant pros far outweigh any minor cons. Random observations follow. Will try to post some pics soon. Merry Christmas all!

*Staying on 6 of 11 floors on sea side of hotel at great height for long distance Med view

*Oversized soaking tub for great bath
*Copious hot water
*Fantastic, large multi-function shower head
*Large plush towels

*Wide balcony with large table and 2 comfortable wicker chairs with good privacy dividers

*Great staff, from bartender who brought bottle of wine and decadent slice of cake to room for my mom's 70th, to front desk staff, to Lora the Manager
*Assisting greatly when we temporarily lost and found my mother's purse at the hotel on arrival
*Quickly accommodating room change for slightly better view on arrival

*Large 2 queen Family Room great for 2 people
*Very comfortable beds with soft linens
*Free (fast!) internet, full breakfast, AND mini bar contents for Gold+ Marriott members

*Fantastic view over marina and on to the Med
*Fun-to-watch large and small yachts, some with Christmas lights, just below balcony

*Plenty of good lighting, and plenty of desk and drawer and closet space
*Quick room service with good food that is reasonably priced for Europe (granted Christmas Eve and quiet hotel right now)
*Huge flat-screen TV

*Great idea of inner door between bedroom and bathroom corridor and outer door, that you can close to keep corridor noise down, if any
*Some children's footsteps heard above briefly, but not an issue at all and and no other noises from surrounding rooms (yep, quiet time of year)

*Monaco border visible just below and to left of balcony, and everything within easy walking, cheap bus, or hotel shuttle distance (from what I have read and what we'll get to experience over the next few days :)
*Great Virtual Concierge online, where you can order a variety of paid and complimentary items, make hotel restaurant res, make hotel shuttle res, etc. before arrival
*Nightly turn down service with chocolates from the nicest housekeeper

One recommendation: Definitely go to the expense (~$80) of hiring a car to take you from airport to hotel. Only 30 minute trip or so, but steep switchbacks and difficulty to locate would have made rental car or other a nightmare, esp after an overnight flight with connections.

Overall, a fantastic place to stay that, whether using points as we are doing or paying, lives up to the label of a great hotel resort with all the right amenities near to everything that is Monaco and that won't 'break the bank' compared to staying in Monte Carlo.

DEFINITELY keep it in mind if your travels take you to the Côte d'Azur!

Dear travlindoc-UT,

Thank you for your review and the marvellous picture of the sunset.
We are very happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay during Christmas with us and your sea-view room with balcony overlooking the Mediterranean see.
I also shared your comments with the staff and they were really touched by your words on the service. You did very well in using our Virtual Concierge’s facilities and telling Lora in advance that it was your mother’s 70th anniversary: we are always delighted to surprise our guests for any special occasion.
As you are pointing-out, we are always working on upgrading an area of our hotel and we are sure you will notice some improvements whenever you come and visit us again.
Wishing you a wonderful New Year 2014.

Why stay in Monte Carlo when you can stay 1 meter from it? Great beaches 2 minutes walk from the hotel, all the amenities of an American chain, excellent breakfast, lovely service. Loved it and will go back the first chance I get.

We are very happy that you enjoyed our hotel’s facilities, our breakfast buffet, our service as well as the walking distance to the beach. Did you try the lovely seaside walk called “sentier du littoral”. Maybe a good idea for your next visit.
