“A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Fab views over the sea, high quality English breakfast for £5.40 inc tea/coffee and great service. It doesn't look much from outside but the food and views are worth it. I haven't tried it yet but the Sunday lunch looked fab as well

“Fab view fab portions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Everything from sunday lunch to earl grey and scones. Been many times ( last occasion today ) in all weathers. If you can get a seat in the window the view is marvellous whatever the weather. Free papaers, dog bowl of water outside sensible prices and mega portions. All aletered to suit your requirements....and if its too full they do takeaways

“Fab Little Cafe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

This place has been here forever! I'd driven past it hundreds of times, and then one day I decided to stop with two hungry children. They had the biggest and freshest sandwiches, made up the way the wanted them - in fact everything is made up fresh, with nothing sitting in counters. A great selection of hot and cold drinks (coffees, teas, hot choc, coke floats etc) and fresh cakes as well as chocolate.

We've now stopped off here a few times for lunchtime sandwiches, as well as breakfast and not only is the food great but the location is stunning. A huge plate glass window overlooks the beach, free parking right outside and the staff are really chatty and friendly.

I highly recommend trying this cafe - it's a little gem.

“A Great British Brunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2011

The Bungalow Cafe has become something of an institution for the locals using Roker beach in Sunderland. It is quite small and is perched on the cliff overlooking the beach and harbour entrance - there is some free public parking on the road immediately alongside the cafe.
The Bungalow is a traditional British cafe. It is at it's best serving traditional English breakfasts, and although it doesn't specify it on the menu, it will cook and serve most variations on that that you could think of - so basically you order what you want and they take it from there. It also does lunches and soups as well as some sandwiches.
The view across the harbour, past the lighthouse and out to sea is stunning. There is also some outside seating.
So whether you want a bacon butty or a full blown English - it really is a great place to stop at.
