“A Great Restaurant most of the time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Ive eaten at Gusto Vero a few times a year for years now and it always has a warm atmosphere (much better than in a restaurant chain), the staff have always been polite and helpful and the food is always good value. There is alot of choice on the menu and the food has always been pleasant apart from on two occasions, i had an evening meal in September 2012 and i felt sick afterwards, one of my companions said that their meal was laced with loads of garlic so she left most of it. I went back for a lunchtime in December 2012 and me and a friend selected something from the specials board and it was absolutely fantastic the sauce complimented the fish perfectly. I hope my visit in September was just a blip and i would certainly recommend Gusto Vero to others!

“One of my favourite Italians in Sunderland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

I've visited this restaurant several times over the past couple of years with my partner. We've eaten here for a quick lunch whilst out shopping and for evening meals and it has always been superb!

The staff are friendly and attentive, whilst not too over the top like some places can be, and the decor of the place has a nice modern Italian twist to it (and has been re-decorated a couple of times).

The food has always been of good quality and is very reasonably priced. My partner and I dined here for valentines day as they had a special menu on for the night which consisted of a lobster to share between two for main course, and I couldn't have faulted any of it.

It has been one of my favourite little Italian restaurants since I first visited here and will continue to be! Perfect for any time of the day and for any occasion.

“bad choice!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

average food that could easily be found in tesco`s or asda`s Italian section with the little difference that the food in the supermarket is more likely to be Italian than in that restaurant!!!!!!!!!! Everyone who has been to a real Italian restaurant can tell the difference!!!!!!!! more, with a reference to the "Italian" i overheard the staff talking and I most CERTAINLY can say that WAS nothing Italian! slow service! the kitchen staff coming in and out of the kitchen all the time looked quite aggressive as well, the length of time they were taking to observe the customers was MORE than enough to make yo feel unwanted or uncomfortable, as if you are in someone`s living room! strongly recommend TO AVOID!!!!
