“You can't hear the planes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2008

A 2 minute walk from the arrivals hall and the station, this hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, with a good bed and modern bathroom. We had a brilliant night's sleep. Although we could see airplanes from our bedroom window, we did not hear them! We hear every sound, so to stay in such a quiet room was amazing. Unbelievable soundproofing! Breakfast buffet was good too and checking in & out very efficient.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.

What a wonderful way to end our Scandinavian trip by staying at the Radisson SAS Hotel at the Gardermoen Airport. The room was huge, quiet, clean and comfortable. We dined in their restaurant, relaxed and went to bed early because of a 6:30 a.m. flight. The breakfast buffet was open at 5:00 a.m., and our only regret was that we could not linger over the meal. This hotel is really a minute walk to the terminal...totally the most convenient place to stay. No cab fare, no rushing around at the last moment.

What a fabulous airport hotel! Extremely expensive, but completely convenient to the airport and train station. The family room we stayed in was huge, spotlessly clean, with bunkbeds for the kids and a shower that was so good I didn't want to get out of it. The breakfast was very ample, well-presented, in a pleasant dining room. All in all it was a shame that we only spent 7 hours in the hotel!

The hotel is a short walk from the terminal of the airport in Oslo (this is convenient in Norway in the wintertime). Walking through the heavy layer of frost during the day was like walking through a picture in a postcard. The lobby is spacious and modern. The staff at the front desk are courteous and knowledgeable. Checkin was a pleasant and painless experience, handled with typical Scandinavian style (friendly and efficient).

My room (both stays coming and going ... as I traveled to Andenes on business) was spacious (for European standards), attractively decorated, and clean, clean, clean.

The evening restaurant was a good experience as is the morning restaurant, where you can have a typical Scandinavian breakfast or English/American breakfast or a combination of both as it is buffet style. Service in the evening restaurant is not quick, then again why be in a hurry? The bartender wasn't sure how to make a martini, but I didn't care as is the local beer is so good.

You will not go wrong staying here as it is next to the airport (though you will NOT hear the planes) and designed for business people.

Stayed at the SAS Radisson at the end of June for one night, while travelling within Norway on business.

The hotel was what would be expected from an airport hotel; the check in went well and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds have the "traditional" white quilt and the bathroom had a walk-in shower, both large enough for the occasion. However, the room would be a little small if on a longer stay. The hotel is of modern style and appearance, with the fixtures and fittings being as expected in this part of the world. There is a small bar that serves a good beer and open sandwich on late arrival, which was just the job following a flight!

Breakfast is in a large open room, with plenty of light and a great selection of hot and cold dishes covering all the cold meats, cheeses etc and even jelly!

Over all it was a pleasant stay and revitalisation stop and I would stay here again if passing through.

We were departing Oslo for a return flight back to London and were put up for one night by our tour company at the Radisson SAS Airport Hotel at the airport. It was a good experience. The hotel was spacious, and located within an easy 5-minute walk from the main terminal. We were able to pile all of our luggage onto an airport luggage cart and take it up to our room for the night. The hotel is well insulated from the noise of the jet traffic and was comfortably quiet and air conditioned. The room was spacious, clean and the beds very comfortable. The decor of our room however was a bit "loud" with ultra-modern furnishings and a lime green and burnt orange color scheme. Still, for one night that was quite acceptable. The included breakfast was excellent with a large variety of foods and drinks.
This is an excellent transit hotel or business meeting hotel, but I would recommend one of the inner-city tourist hotels for someone planning to spend several days in the city.

I found myself stranded at Oslo airport at midnight while travelling on business, so I "walked up" to the desk of the SAS Radisson Oslo Airport for a room.

The building is very modern, fresh and "Scandinavian artistic" looking. Glass and steel. Very smart.

The bar is adjacent to the check in desk, and it was full of loud business people drinking hard. Not the hotels' fault though I guess.

There was only a Junior Suite available at full rate, but I just needed somewhere to sleep so I accepted the room at £300 a night * wince *

The room was accessed along very "sci fi" open corridors on the second floor BUT with confusing room number direction signs.

It was far from grand, but VERY spacious - with what was basically a small conference room connected to the bedroom. A large round table and six chairs, along with everything I would ned for an all-day conference was provided.

Of course for a night's sleep it was bad value, but at that rate or better, it is a very practical proposition for airport client meetings in future.

Bed was quite lovely as is always the case in SAS hotels IME. A fine espresso machine welcomed me in the morning too.

I was very surprised when I opened the curtains in the morning to see that planes were manoeuvring just 200 metres or so outside my window ! This must be the best double glazing in the world !

I missed breakfast as it ends at 09:30 and I showed up at 09:40. My fault I guess.

A fine nights sleep and a decent value airport meeting venue in my opinion. Not recommended for much else though.
