“Modern central Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2011

Hotel located in the city center of Haugesund. This is a fairly new and modern hotel with good sized rooms and good customer service. The check in process went well with a new staff member who was training. The room is a good size and larger than your normal Scandic hotel room. The room is very modern and clean (see photos) I had dinner in the restaurant which was decent. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection of hot and cold options. Hotel has parking although it is quite expensive. All in all a good stay at this hotel and somewhere I will return when traveling back to Haugesund.

Nice, new hotel in Haugesund.

Stylish design, clean, big rooms, and friendly staff.
Placed close to the city center.

Verry slow internet, almost useless.
Bad TV reception. Sound and picture poor.

Breakfast was good, but was out of eggs both days.

Visited in November this year - friendly staff, modern and large rooms, very comfortable bed, terrific buffet breakfast, spotlessly clean everywhere and very central in Haugesund, 2 minutes from the main shopping street and 10 minutes walk from the University College.

Stayed there for one night passing through town.
Convenient location, just a few minutes walk from the main bus station.
Hotel room is small, and I chose to have the curtains closed as multiple neighbors had direct view into my room. I was on the third floor. Except from that the room was new, modern and clean. Free internet.
Downstairs the hotel had a small bar/coffee bar in the reception as well as a restaurant. I only had breakfast there, this was excellent.

We stayed one night in a standard room on the 4th floor with a view of private apartments across the street. Check in was fast and friendly. Nice new hotel (starting to look worn in the hallways where the cleaning crew must drag their carts along the walls). Clean rooms, but almost no storage space: six hangers, no drawers. We only stayed one night so that wasn't a problem, but I thought about people who would stay longer. Bathroom: Almost no toiletries, only hand soap and shower cream, but water pressure was good and hairdryer worked well. Had to use one of the handtowels to keep the floor dry from the shower (keep the shower head pointed STRAIGHT down). We didn't like that the drinking glasses in the bathroom and wine glasses in the main room were left upside down and unwrapped on uncovered tables. We were thankful that our room was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was ok with good variety. We rented a movie from the room's tv, but the picture quality was not good.

Don't turn up on Friday evening looking for some emergency dry cleaning - "I'm sorry, the dry cleaners are closed for the weekend" - but hey, it's Haugesund and Haugesund operates at its own pace; but, in truth, you can't really go wrong with this hotel - very central, clean, free WIFI, VERY good work surface, plenty of spare sockets, great shower, and lovely comfortable beds; the biggest (unexpected) up-side was the breakfast however - EVERYTHING you could want, beautifully laid out, very tasty and NO ONE badgering you for your name and room number -- literally out of the lift and in you go -- I love that trust / honour thing about these Nordic and Scandinavian types..

Room Tip: Always ask for an upgrade - if they have it, they'll give it..
