Owner description: ..... an extraorninary experience! In beautiful and dramatic Western Norway, at the foot of the Voringsfoss waterfall and by the ascent of the Mabodalen valley, lies the Hardangervidda Nature Center at Eidfjord with its breathtaking but unobtrusive architecture. The purpose of the centre is to gather and distributre knowledge about interaction in nature and human activities. Our task is to bring about an intimate meeting of modern man and nature. The Hardangervidda Nature Centre at Eidfjord is a centre for the whole family, featuring lively exhibitions, hand-on activities, and visual effects. Today the centre is one of the leading centres of its kind, featuring pioneering technological effects. The super-videograph is a modern panoramic cinema, built in cooperation with Ivo Caprino who also made the film which is shown here. In the cinema you can take off on a journey past fjords, mountains and waterfalls.

“Why watch a film?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

We couldn't see the point in paying to see a film, even one from a helicopter or IMAX like when the real thing is just a few miles away.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

I agree with the previous comments from those who enjoyed their visit. The film show across five large screens is superb and awe-inspiring and gives a true feel for the scale and variety of the area's spectacular features. We also enjoyed spending time finding out information from the various exhibits within the Centre itself. A lovely trip in a beautiful, serene setting - the complete opposite of 'mass tourism' in my opinion.

“Must see film taken by helicopter - Learn about glaciers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

The film shown is amazing and really made our hiking experience even more meaningful to see the whole landscape where we had been walking. The information about geology and the glaciers was really useful too but I would have liked perhaps to have an audio guide to walk around with.

“Excellent nature museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

This was a great visit for us and our two children, who really enjoyed looking at everythinginside the museum, including a really spectactular movie which definitely should not to be missed!! The museum architecture is also very interesting. The location is just perfect, right in the middle of nature, surrounded by green mountains and waterfallls, the fjords, just excellent in all ways!

“Nature center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Very informative. The video alone is worth the admission price. ($20 US). However, would be too expensive for a large group or family.
