“Old-fashioned and dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

I wasn't expecting anything fancy when I made a room reservation, but this was certainly under expectations. The bed wasn't clean at all - there were hair and a variety of stains in different colours, especially in daily coverage of the bed. Ugly! I asked, how often they wash that daily coverage and they tought they don't necessarily do it at all.
The breakfast room was dark and old-fashioned, not necesserily dirty but quite poor anyway.

Hotel Cumulus Imatra is very central in the small town. Jus outside the door you find restaurants and shops in the pedestrians' street. The staff is very friendly and helpful - the breakfast a bit disappointing.
5 minutes walk from the hotel is the main attraction: The Imatrankoski waterfall. In the summertime the waterfall van be seen every day at 18.00 o'clock where it opens for excately 16 minutes. It is really worth seeing!
Take your car to the hotel - very good parking at the roof of the hotel.

The hotel staff was friendly. The location is very good, as you can walk everywhere.
The hotel itself though is dated and way too expensive! The room we stayed did not have air conditioning or minibar. So we had nice warm drinks in the very hot room. There was only one little table fan, not enough in that heat. You could open the windows, but there is the busy street outside. So windows open you got a little air but no sleep.
This hotel desperately needs some renovation. And our room also needed a good clening. We had an allergy room and it was dirty with dustballs under the bed...
At the breakfast they could make the coffee theirselves. And again some warm orange juice.
Won't be going again.

A very basic hotel, more like a motel. Furnishings and amenities have not been updated since the hotel was built. Friendly staff did not make up for the discomfort of sweating through a night in a room without air conditioning. Access from the parking area is not made for anyone with mobility issues. Several flights of stairs any way you go.

I was here for 3 overnights, and it's a quite area just 60 km. away from Lappeenranta. Staff is very friendly and rooms contain all basic needs. Bathroom was a bit small, but well organised, so it didn't bother too much.

Very good location right in the center of Imatra, close to all shops and waterfall. Room was very clean and beds were very comfortable.Very good breakfast for all tastes.

The only one minus: we had dinner in the hotel restaurant , rather expensive anв еру waitress didn't tell us that pasta Arabiata is extremely hot and spicy. We couldn't eat it and lost 15 euros

There's Martina restaurant in this hotel which serves very tasty meals! But the breakfast in the hotel is not very good. The place is great to spend a night before/after crossing the border - everything in the hotel is "that'll do" for one night and the value is just right - the price includes the convenience of the location of Imatra town in Finland.
