Stayed with my friend for 2 nights. It was a decent hotel for the price per night. It is just outside Caen. The drive to the coast (courseulle sur mer) is not too far by car. It really is not difficult to find the hotel there are signs when off the highway. Actually my friend and I found that everywhere we went there were a lot of signs helping us find things. We did not include breakfast, so cannot comment. Room was nice and clean when arrived. It did not look as anyone came in to make beds or clean it during the day over the weekend. I assume it is because we only stayed two nights. There is a tv in the room. A stand with lots of pamphlets on different places to visit. Tip though. On a few of them we could not find an address just a vague map. This cause some problems trying to enter it into the gps, but still we found the places we wanted to see. If your on a budget and looking for a decent hotel I definitely recommend this one.

This is the first ETAP Hotel we’d stayed in, but it was as the Ebay’ers would say “as described”.

Practicalities – make for the Saint Clair Centre Commercial – follow the road past the entrance to the car park and turn right at the Campanile – the hotel is just down that road on the right. Car parking at the front. The Centre Commercial is within easy walking distance (footpath and street lighting; follow the road back to the Centre Commercial then turn right and cross the zebra crossing to go into the main car park). It has a large Carrefour supermarket and around 80 shops. There’s a Flunch (recommended), a McDonalds and a couple of other bars/restaurants. Just what you’d want for a stop-over. Free WiFi (code on the room door). We used the automated check in but there was someone there after 5pm and again in the morning. The automated check in gives you a 6 digit code you use to open the front door and your room.

Rooms – basic but spotlessly clean and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast again basic – bread, coffee, cereal, small sealed packs of cheese, yoghurt etc. Not exactly an Early Starter but filled you up; and what else do you expect for 5eu.

So no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It’s basic but clean and does what it says. Location really makes it though as you can spend a pleasant evening shopping and eating/drinking without using the car. We’d happily return.

we stayed there for an overnight stop. Room was accessed out of hours using access code and it all worked well. The room is fairly basic but was very clean and comfortable. I would certainly recommend it for this purpose and use again if needed. Fantastic value.

As a family we have stayed in a number of Etap hotels but it has to be said that this is the worst one. The room was so small that it felt claustrophobic. The shower was tiny and the curtain was not capable of holding any water in and the bathroom flooded every time it was used. The bunk over the double bed was not only unmade but had no duvet or sheet. There was nobody on reception to report this to until morning. The receptionist was unable to help at that stage.

There was nothing fancy about this hotel, but it was a perfect stop for the ferry. Very clean and comfortable. We arrived out of hours and checked in using a machine which gave us access codes. Kids loved the single bunk over the double bed! 5 mins walk from a shopping centre with restaurants and supermarket. The hotel was quite difficult to find in the first instance.
