“A charming restaruant with a terrific view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

The Auberge La Sapiniere is situated in the Col de Port, high up in the hills leading through the Pyrenees. It was a splendid drive to reach our destination and prior to lunch we enjoyed a gentle walk in the hills. It is the starting point for many mounting hiking trails. Its worth making a day of it. The food is good, portions generous and staff welcoming. I'd go again in a flash.

“Spectacular location standard fare”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

The food is limited and can tend to be greasy. Because of its location with spectacular views and far from competition the prices are slightly inflated. Service is very courteous and friendly

“Beautiful Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We have visited this restaurant on a couple of occasions and each time we have had a delightful lunch.
The first time was with friends of the owner but on the next visit we took overseas visitors who were treated well.
I suggest that you make a booking as this restaurant is in the mountains.

“Authentic mountain food & atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

We love visiting this restaurant every time we come to the area. Great value three course menu with huge portions including confit of duck, boudin and an amazing apple pie. Very friendly service in a relaxed and rustic room (outdoors as well). Fantastic location at the col de port with great views and walks.

“Fantastic View & Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

This authentic Auberge is set alongside a mountain road in the Pyrenees. The view is fantastic and one of the few places in the area where you can enjoy home cooked local sourced food whilst looking at snow capped peaks sitting in glorious sunshine. The menu is good honest food - much of which is produced locally. Service is friendly and welcoming. Don't expect white table cloths and 'posh' table setting - do expect great food, wine and the feeling of being on top of the world !
