“Useful things to know if you are going soon...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Our group was made up of 4 adults and two 6 year old girls. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel. We travelled this half term (tues 18th to sat 22nd feb '14). We had interconnecting rooms, which was a God send and our rooms were exactly what the pictures showed. Yes, the rooms look a bit tired when you start looking closely, but for what we paid, we can't complain. We were pleasantly surprised that the room and hotel was not as bad as some people appear to suggest (I will, however, come onto to the food and drink!). The room was cleaned daily.
Having read previous reviews, we took tea/coffee, mini UHT cartons, paper cups and snacks for the room. We forgot the travel kettle and were intending on renting one. However, check your room first, as we had one in each room, so that saved the 25 euro deposit. It was also a godsend when you get back after a long day.
Remember your hairdryer - there is none in the room! There is also a safe, so this took the worry out of leaving stuff around.
Checking in was fairly smooth running. They will ask you what time you want breakfast each day and give you a card, which will say from what time you can go into breakfast. Don't get hung up with this whole idea that you should eat breakfast really early. We mainly went down after 8.30 a.m. and it seemed to go in waves. On some occcasions we strolled in and on others there was a queue. On our last morning, we went in at 7.30 a.m. and this was the worst experience for seating and people. Breakfast is fairly basic but we did save a fortune by taking the rolls, ham and cheese out with us every day for lunch.
If you are at the stage of booking your trip, seriously consider whether you need to purchase the meal plan. It seems an expensive option and the majority of places appear to serve a buffet fully of chips, chicken wings, burgers, hotdogs and more chips. Don't expect to see a proper bit of fruit or vegetables if you stay local! Don't forget, the whole idea is to keep you tied to the Disney affiliated resturants. The worst night for food was the take away from the Saloon Bar on site. It is overpriced and the quality was poor. To give you an idea, 4 slices of basic cheese pizza was just under 10 euro, a pasta pot (similar to a snack pot) was around 8 euro and a hot dog was around 7 euros. The drinks are extortionate - two of the group learnt a hard lesson when they bought a bottle of Gallo red wine from the Bar at a cost of 24 euros!!!!!
Our advice would be explore elsewhere. There is a large supermarket (Auchan) at the Val de Europe shopping centre (lower level). We stocked up on wine, snacks etc for the room and lunch. Also at the other end there are quite a few good resturants. We ate at a lovely Italian (main course/dessert/drink 15 euro per adult and lovely child menu for 6 euro).
To get to Val de Europe you can hop on the train right outside the Disney Park entrance and it is a 5 minute walk to the shopping centre (ask when you exit) or find the bus stop with the buses going this way. Look for the bus that is going to Hotel L'Esyee, as the entrance is right opposite! Both of these ways bring you to the Shopping Centre entrance nearest to the Supermarket and you need to walk to the opposite end to find the resturants.
We also took the train into Paris for one of the days. You need to pay the ticket that covers zones 1 to 5 (similar to a travel card). It cost 22 euro for adult and half for the kids. There were some amazing deals for resturants there.
Hope the above helps for those planning or going. We had a great time. We will end this review by saying that Hotel Tower of Terror and Crush Roller coaster were probably not the best rides for six year olds! Both were very, very, very scary and you may need to take a change of underwear!!!!
Au revoir...

After readi g the reviews i was dreading our stay at hotel cheyenne. But we were pleasently surprised. While the rooms were outdated i thought it fitted well with the theme of the hotel which is old country/western. The rooms were clean and cleaned everyday. We were in Doc Holiday which was a 2 min walk to the hitel reception and a 10 min walk to the parks themselves. Breakfast was great, theres a great selection for all the family ti choose from. Id only jave one complaint we as a family were put on the same floor as a school group, we were lucky enough that this group was well behaved and respected the fact that there was a family staying on the same floor. We might not have been so lucky if it was a different school group. Wifi is available at reception which was great but not having it in rooms was a pain. Over all had a great time. Check in was quick and easy and check out was even quicker. Def go for the 8am breakfast gives you plenty of time to enjoy your day and also get some sort of sleep on. I would def return to Hotel Cheyenne :)

Would definitely use again

Plus points : kids felt like they were in a cowboy town, free car parking, good room layout - kids in bunks not sharing a double bed, good breakfast, freq buses to parks or short walk. Cheap - perfect for somewhere to sleep.

Not so good : rooms are 'tired' - flaking paint; adds to the character? Lack of electric points to recharge phones / cameras etc. Breakfast was a bun-fight; same in all disney hotels? Slow check in

We checked in Feb half term on the friday night, check in was quick and painless, room had a double bed and one bunk bed. Bathroom door (internally) could have been cleaner but standard of cleanliness was good overall. We had a room on the first floor that looked out over the rest of the Cheyenne 'village', which meant it was fairly noisy until about 10pm with people walking past etc. Didn't bother us too much as we were shattered by the time we got back, and our 3 year old was still flat out by 8pm every night.
From just before 8am in the reception area, we had visits from Mickey and Minnie Mouse for meet and greets, with a 20 minute queue.
Breakfast is best booked between 7-7.40am, any later and it gets packed solid with a massive queue to get in. When you check in make sure you get a breakfast reservation for each morning you stay. Breakfast was help yourself buffet; croissants/pain au chocolat/white bread rolls/white bread for toasting - jams/marmalades/butter/margerine/nutella - cheese cubes/cold deli meats/canned fruit salad/yogurt - special k/chocolate cereal/golden puffs and milk/tea and coffee/orange and apple juice. Quality was better than we expected. There is water dispensers to fill up any water bottles ready for the day. Shuttle bus outside reception runs every 12 mins, or the walk to the park was pleasant, took us 10-15 mins at a fast walk along the Rio Grande (river running between some of the hotels). See if you can spot the massive fish in the river!!
Summary - basic hotel, nothing wrong with it as a base, expensive enough trip that I wouldn't be tempted to stay in more expensive hotels on site!

Room Tip: -Try and ask for a room not overlooking the main hotel 'village' area if you want a quieter...

This is a good hotel for taking a large group of school pupils as despite being only two star, it is very clean. Hotel staff are also very friendly and they speak good English. The all you can eat buffet is perfect for school groups as there is definitely something for everyone and food was an ok quality. 15 to 20 minute walk to the main park.

However, there are a few issues:
1. Decor is very tatty. Very tired and dated, hence the star rating and price.
2. Key cards rarely work. It can take several attempts to get into your room, if at all so take both key cards with you as often you can get one of them to work after a few goes. However, be prepared to wander to reception for the times that the key cards are unresponsive.
3. Check the room for damage. In my room there was a telephone cable pulled from the wall and electrical wiring exposed. This is dangerous and had been noted by the previous occupant of the room but not put right. You will get charged for any damage that is not reported as apparently it is your responsibility to check the room, not theirs.
4. Breakfast is a free for all and very basic. It is very crowded at breakfast and choice of foods is poor. There was no milk on the first day and pupils had to rely on using milk meant for the tea and coffee for their cereal. Id suggest getting up early as 7am was a better time as less crowded.
5. Check your cutlery. Although the rooms were clean, knives and forks often needed a good wipe prior to use.

This is definitely a place for school groups as there were several of us there. Given that, I would not recommend it for a family unless you do not mind large groups of school kids. Ideal for such groups but check your rooms!

Drop your expectations, load up with plenty of euros and you will have a super time. Like most people, we were concerned about the negative reviews, but, worry not. Hotel Cheyenne is, what it says on the tin. We had 2 interconnecting rooms for 6 of us, in Wyatt Earp , a block nearest the restaurant, shuttle bus etc. the rooms were newly refurbished, clean, comfy , warm and quiet. Kettle provided, but do take tea and mugs etc. maid service each day and all in all not one complaint. Get to breakfast by 7 and you will find it less manic. No complaints and a wonderful, magical 4 days.

Stayed for four nights, two adults and two young children. Positives were, room for all four of us, friendly staff, 15mins walk to parks or regular shuttle bus. Negatives were, very crowded and busy place, lots of school groups. Breakfast is buffet style and a complete free for all. Healthy eating not possible here. Breakfast included pastries, cereals, white bread (no brown) chocolate spreads and cold meats. The room had not been cleaned at all well, found a croissant in the drawer, a lipsil at side of bed and lots of dust everywhere. Minimal toiletries provided. Had to leave 25 euros for deposit on a kettle, then wanted to carge me for some disposable cups. If you want a drink in your room pack some cups. Enjoyed our stay but think if you can, spend a bit more and stay in a nicer hotel. It was ok if you don't want any luxuries and just a base to go the parks.
