We were heading back from South West France and had quite a trip, delayed by an accident on the motorway, which we managed to avoid by scooting off at the exit before. Then 20 miles from Orleans we encountered a massive traffic queue round and to the North of Orleans (2 Hours). Luckily the hotel is only five minutes from Sortie 14 off the A10/E60 It is easy to find, just be aware that you have to turn right into a small old fashioned slip road BEFORE the traffic lights. It's next to the Saran Rugby Union Ground (Please note Aussi friends, not a football Oval :D ) We arrived at around 19:00. Wonderful lady on reception asked if I wanted to check the disabled room first to see if it was OK (It would be great if you are able to transfer and would recommend it) regrettably not quite wide enough for our hoist, so she showed me one of their superior rooms which was spot on for our requirements.
Secure parking with a coded gate works well, a disabled space right next to an entrance to the hotel next to the lift and the room right across from the lift. Perfect. The rooms are as previously mentioned and are a studio room with a bathroom, kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster, a hotplate, crockery and cutlery. TV/CD/Radio excellent.
Being too late for the restaurant, and while my wife rested I went to get gas (turn left and to back down to the roundabout 2nd right) and to see what food was available. There's a drive thru Quicky on the roundabout and if you turned right out of the hotel, there's a Buffalo Grill and a bit further up the road there's an estate with every food chain restaurant you can think of next to a cinema complex. The area is fine and there is a lot of improvement work to the roads going on, but remarkably quiet. Others have mentioned seeing some "youths" hanging around. Not a problem they're just local kids and being local French kids, are much better behaved and very polite, (not everyone is a hooded thug folks).
Anyway it was very busy around the food areas and I didn't feel like queuing so went back to the hotel and grabbed a couple of microwave meals from the vending machine. Perfectly adequate for a quick snack. Good breakfast from the restaurant which I was able to take up to the room. Normal selection of continental cold meat and cheeses, croissants, pastries, fruit and fruit juice. Some fab little link sausages and THE best buffet breakfast omelettes ever.
Lovely staff and everything you need for an overnight or as a base for visiting Orleans area.
