“3 weeks Australia, best 3 days at the Rainforest Bungalows”

This stay was the highlight on our Australia trip. The cabins are nice and clean and big enough for 4 people. Eddie is a fantastic host who will always serve a beer or a steak. We will definitely come back!

We spent a wonderful holiday in this bungalow!!
Surrounded by the Daintree Rainforest, close to Cow Bay beach, the bugalow is very clean, spacious, and have all you need to cook your meal and have a good night's sleep...
Ed explained to us all the best places to see depending on our desires.
My wife had an ankle sprain during Mt Sorrow walk and Ed and his wife were very helpful by lending us his own crutches!
If one day I come back to the Daintree Rainforest, I will definitely stay there again!

Amazingly, my arachnophobic 21 year old daughter, and 16 year old son enjoyed themselves hugely, staying at the bungalows. Ed is a great host.. his suggestions spot on. Highlights for us were Cow Bay (just a beautiful surprise), the Daintree Ice Cream factory, and the Croc tour. But there were lots of highlights. Note that if you want to do the skywire thingy, you have to book early as it's very popular (we were too late). My son will never forget his 16th birthday in the Daintree.

The cabins are spotless. Just great.

Room Tip: there isn't a swimming pool or fitness centre!

We took a 10 day holiday in far north QLD and our stay at Ed's bungalows was the highlight of the trip! Ed welcomed us on arrival with a friendly beer in hand and some very useful advice on the local area. He also put on a bbq for everyone staying at the bungalows that night which turned out to be a great night getting to know everyone. Ed couldn't have been more helpful whenever we needed anything including making enquiries about activities for us and making sure we got up on time for a snorkelling trip to the barrier reef.

The bungalows are built to a very high standard (by Ed himself) being both practical and comfortable and blend in very well to the idyllic setting.

Ed and Cheryl were excellent hosts who felt more like friends by the end of our stay. Thanks for the good times! We look forward to returning someday soon.

We're Cairns locals & had decided to go somewhere different to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with friends from Victoria. We found Ed's cabins online and have just returned from spending two days there. I completely concur with all the positive reports on this site! Ed is a carpenter and his "hand crafted" cabins are really very special. Despite the reasonable tariff we found things that not even very pricey alternatives offer. The cabins are immaculately kept, fully screened and bug free! Little touches like salt & pepper, spray cooking oil, coffee plungers, quality body and hand wash, complimentary bottled water, torches and even packs of cards were most welcome, thoughtful touches. We made good use of the well appointed outdoor barbecue area and like others, were taken with Ed's hospitality! We'll definitely be going back.

Room Tip: al 4 cabins are great

We were welcomed by a beer and some advice for the things to do in the area. Ed came back the next morning to bring us some fresh fruits from his garden. He also gave some extra kitchen tools before we had to ask. The cabins are spacious and very clean. We absolutely loved to stay there! Highly recommended!

We stayed 2 nights with Eddie in June in his rainforest bungalow and feel it was the best place during our entire 3 weeks in Australia. His hand built, wooden bungalows are quiet, airy, clean, and bug free with lots of screened windows. At night we fell asleep to the crickets and in the mornings awoke to the morning sun and chattering birds. We enjoyed cooking in our little kitchen, which had everything we needed and the cooler/fridge worked perfectly to keep our food cold! He is the perfect host and we enjoyed talking to him and talking about Australian politics/current events over beer and BBQ. I could rave more, but will simply say that you should book immediately!
