Owner description: The Discovery Centre is a world-class ecotourism facility nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. As the #1 Attraction in the Daintree it provides a wonderful introduction to this iconic world heritage destination. The spectacular Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway allow visitors to explore every level of the forest and Audio Guides in 6 languages are a hit with overseas visitors. But it is it’s innovative Carbon Offset Project that is attracting attention! Part of every entry fees goes towards ‘saving the planet’ via its bio-sequestration scheme. The Discovery Centre is sustainable ecotourism at its best!

“A must when you visit the Daintree area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

This centre gives you fantastic information about this area. Audiophone was included in the entrance fee and and Indigenous significances were luckily also included.
Especially I liked the recordings of different birds' sounds. Early next morning I could here these in the bush.

“Another Rainforest, with a pricetag”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

This was the first rainforest that we visited, however it was not our favorite by far. The Discovery Centre seemed to be a way to make money off of a World Heritage Area. It may be better when its not raining and animals are more active, but when we were there it was extremely quiet with animal activity and it seemed like we paid to just walk through a rainforest. Just food for thought.

“Nothing you couldn't see by getting out of your car but you might learn something”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

This is a very pricy activity - made us wonder what we were paying for. $64 for two adults is a lot for what was an hour visit. Left feeling disappointed.
Lots of education and information available so maybe we could have made more of it... But a lot of what we read we already picked up during other activities in Cape Trib.
The staff were lovely and super friendly.

“great staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We were two lions rugby travellers and had not been to the area before. Alan who heads the centre was incredibly well informed and lives nearby, he made the visit a real treat and actually made learning fun!!.. also the mad professor who holds talks on various subjects (and is actually very well qualified) went down really well and had us all spellbound with stories about the creepy crawlies and animals in the centre.. all in all a great place to visit to get a handle on the whole area, do not miss it !
shaun and adam.

“Good start to the Daintree”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

If you wanted to learn about the rainforest, this is a great place to start. The individual audio guides made it possible for us to wind our way around the rainforest while learning about flora and fauna. There is also a very detailed printed guide.that you take away.
