“Fabulous service from all of the staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

I stayed here for business purposes, although, it being half term, my family (husband and 2 children aged 9 and 5) also accompanied me. The 'family room' was immaculate and more spacious than other "budget family hotels" we have stayed in. Both children had 'proper beds', as opposed to one having a 'pull out' from under a sofa bed, happily for a busy (stressed) working Mum, both were already made up (unlike other comparably priced hotels we have stayed in). The staff couldn't have been any more polite, welcoming and helpful if they had tried. An offer to print a work document for me,free of charge, was made, although I had to decline due to confidentiality, the offer was greatly appreciated, as was the loan of a stapler, hole punch and printed directions to a meeting venue (given without asking) in a neighboring town. Half an hour free WiFi each day was also very useful. We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel, and despite being on a main road, there was no noise problem at all. The simple in room temperature control was also a welcome addition after a couple of disastrous nights in other hotels where we have melted overnight!!! Prior to our arrival and on check in, the staff offered to book a table for us at the Beefeater on site, arriving on a bank holiday we accepted with gratitude! For the price paid we could not have wished for better service off the staff, or any cleaner, brighter, spacious accommodation. We have nothing bad to say and would definitely stay here again, for business or pleasure!!!

Room Tip: Accept an offer to book a table if you plan to eat at the on site Beefeater as it did seem busy (alt...

I've found that premier inn hotels can be hit and miss but this was spot on.

Clean, bright comfortable room and the bed was very comfy.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It was handy for us because we were heading out for a family meal in llantrisant but its quite a bit outside of the centre of Cardiff.

Does what it should do at a great price.

Having been invited to attend a family wedding in the local area, it was a delight to be able to stay at the Premier Inn Llantrisant. We had been on the road since 7.30am that morning and were due to attend the wedding at 3pm. Although the official check in time of the hotel was not until 2pm, it was no problem at all to the hotel to arrange an early check in. On arrival at 1pm we were able to check in to two of the three rooms books, which was more than we were expecting. This allowed us to freshen up and change for the wedding. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the linen was fresh and the little touches like a choice of pillows, availability of a hairdryer shower gel and handwash in the bathrooms was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable (having a bad back this was really important). We are now Premier Inn converts.

Stayed here last weekend of April for an event and this is by far the best Premier Inn any of my family has stayed in.
It is in a great location and easy to find. I was worried it may be noisy, but it is not really near the main road, and we were lucky enough to be in a room at the back overlooking the mountains , so we slept through without hearing a peep!
Next door to a Beefeater, though we didn't eat here, as we were back too late from the event. We did however use the bar and staff were friendly and welcoming. We also enjoyed the breakfast the next day for £8.95. Yes, it is expensive, like all other chain hotels, but for once it was worth it. Huge buffet table with continental breakfast items/toaster/unlimited juice and Costa Coffee and all the cooked breakfast items are made to order how you like it, so it was fresh and plentiful!
Fabulous receptionist called Sian went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and she really couldn't have been nicer or more efficient.

Room Tip: Ask for one near the back if you can

Stayed here to attend an event close by - very helpful staff on reception - gave us a heads up on arrival that bookings for the dining room of the pub next door were busy later in the evening but showed us the tables available so we were able to eat without waiting - very important with a teenage traveller!

Room Tip: despite being close to a busy road we had no noise issues - usual consistent hight standards expecte...

We went to Cardiff with the express intention of visiting the Doctor Who experience, looking for a hotel that wasn't in the city centre but at the same time was affordable. This, I have to say is the best Premier Inn I have ever stayed in and the whole family agree. The ladies on the desk were so helpful and answered all the questions we had, from how best to get into Cardiff Bay, even down to extra milk for tea. They couldn't have been any better. I would say that if you are looking for a family room, or are a light sleeper, it could be best to ring and reserve to make sure you get a room at the back of the hotel as it is situated right by a very busy road.

The only let down on the trip was the evening meal at The Longbow next to the hotel. They were very busy when we went but that doesn't excuse brown lettuce, burnt garlic bread and mash potato that is more like playdo. Our waitress was excellent and it wasn't her fault, she got a new garlic bread and took them both off the bill but this wasn't a two for £10 restaurant and I do expect more from Beefeater.

Having said that the breakfast was excellent. They cooked a fried egg for my 8 year old that he talked about all day. The bacon was tasty and whilst we asked for it crispy it was not cremated. There was a lot of choice and all the cereals were branded and did not turn to mush in the bowl. Just what you need to set you up for a days walk around Cardiff.

We stayed here for one night over the Easter weekend, and were not left disappointed. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, approachable, and very helpful. Room was to an excellent standard, absolutely no complaints at all. The offer to make a reservation for dinner was provided - not something we needed, but it's nice to have the offer! There is a Beefeater pub adjacent, The Longbow - very good service there too. Bed was very comfortable, room was immaculate & spacious - I will be recommending this to anyone as a cheaper option than staying at Miskin Manor!
