“Never staying again...terrible mistake!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012 via mobile

Tiny rooms that stink like terrible toilet spray. Mould all over shower and general cleanliness is lacking, farrrr too many stairs to rooms, flat screen tv.

I stayed here in a motel room for one night during my last trip to Perth as all the accommodation in the CBD was booked out. The location isn't far from the city but I had a hard time getting a cab on the morning I checked out because it's a bit out of the way compared to most other hotels/motels.

The room itself was quite ok - pretty compact but it seemed clean enough. I was at the front of the hotel right near the railway station and road and didn't have any problems with noise.

If you're travelling with lots of baggage, be aware that there is no lift in the property (not that I could find, anyway) and quite a few stairs so it's hard to get around with larger bags. Also be aware that the reception is also closed from around 8pm to 7:30am.

Room Tip: I understand the hotel rooms are fitted out a little better than the motel rooms so I'd pick one...

Stayed on a Saturday night as couldn't get accommodation in Perth due to CHOGM. fairly close to the airport, and train station across the road so very easy to get into the city. No problems with noise despite there being a function on. Putrid smell that permeated the hotel, may have been because they had painted the corridors that day but didn't smell like paint. Deluxe room was large and opened onto a huge balcony, but doors not secure so felt a little unsafe. Comfy bed, great steak at the restaurant. Would stay again

We stayed at Bayswater for 2 nights,as it was convenient to the airport and for picking up our rental car, also the train into Perth is across the road.

Being a Pub/Hotel we realise it could be noisy, so emailed and requested a room away from the "action" and on the ground floor, as we are an older couple (mid 70's) so we had the wheelchair accessible room

Bathroom was large but room itself was not so big, but was comfortable enough, we had fridge, and sink bench and dishes, some noise till closing time, but that was to be expected.

All in all we were very satisfied, and the front office staff could not help us enough when we realised reading glasses had been left in a taxi, they did the phone calls to organising the finding of & the return of the glasses to the hotel,

All staff were helpful and obliging

Room Tip: Advise hotel of your requirements ie, prefer no stairs

Chose this hotel because it was close to the airport - I took a motel room, not hotel room. The photos on the website were taken a long time ago I think. I got a non-smoking room and there are signs up everywhere saying "do not smoke, alarms will go off and shut down the whole hotel". That's great but unfortunately the room has obviously not always been non-smoking and it stinks. Luckily the bed was comfortable but it was a pretty gross way to spend 2 nights, especially since I got a deal on Wotif for the Hilton the next night for only $5 more...

My family of 4 adults stayed in a hotel family room for AUD150 a night in which there is one queen bed and a double decker single beds. In Perth, I consider this a reasonable sized yet cosy and comfortable room. The room has a beautiful decor theme of beige, white and brown. The quilt cover has different shades of brown in checker boxes. Furthermore, the room is new and modern - it has a safe, ironing board, refridgerator, kettle and hair dryer. However, it could do with a raised platform for placement of luggage bags. The hotel staff is friendly, especially a lady named Blanche, who patiently offered advice on the train schedule and places of interest.
My family checked in at about 6pm on a Saturday evening. The hotel/motel parking was fully occupied because of the hotel restaurant's and function room's patrons. I fully empathized with the previous reviewer about the loud music from the pub and restaurant. I was told that this happens usually during the weekends when there are functions. Another point to note is that the hotel rooms are located on the first floor (upstairs) and there is no elevator/lift. Hence it could be a challenge to carry heavy luggages up the stairs. Nevertheless, one plus point about Bayswater is that the Bayswater train station is located just opposite the hotel/motel, which means a 40-minute train journey to Fremantle station.
