“Enjoyable Pub Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We dined here whilst staying in nearby West Whitton, after a recommendation. We enjoyed the food - delicious fillet steak - so much that we returned again. Friendly service and a good atmosphere.

You would be advised to book as they seemed to be very busy. An early bird option is available up to 1900hrs. Beware - portions are not small!

Stayed in Old School House Bunk Barn (owned by hotel) just a very short walk away.Had an excellent evening meal and breakfast in this lovely old hotel, quietly situated about one and a half miles from West Witton in the lovely Yorkshire Dales. Very good food, choices to suit everyone and generous helpings with locally produced ingredients. Great beers on tap too, again with plenty of choice. Breakfast was good too. Extremely helpful landlord who very kindly sorted out problem for us. Friendly and helpful bar and waiting staff. Can recommend.

This is a lovely pub with a roaring fire, friendly staff and excellent, unpretentious food. Unless you have walked miles, do not attempt more then two courses!Very good vegetarian options as well as great steak and ale pie and huge fish and chips. If in doubt, drink beer not wine by the glass which is disappointing. Next door to a really friendly campsite and very close to the Bunkhouse for reasonable accommodation.

Room Tip: We were not resident but all rooms seem to have great views

The street head inn,

A warm and welcoming pub set in beautiful countryside.

7 of us booked for saturday lunch and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food provided.

Huge fish and chips, tasty chicken curry, a massive gammon, and a wonderful steak and ale pie. (without a doubt the best steak and ale pie i have ever tasted)

The food is a credit to the chef and the portions are more than substantial.

We can all highly recommend the street head in and we will be back again soon.

Thanks guys for a lovely lunch.

Driven past lots of times, just at the wrong time. Well this time i was lodging nearby and thought ''Right, lets do it.'' So glad we did, dined here 2nights on the trot and was totally satisfied each time. The food was superb and the real ale from the cosy bar was a real treat. With open log fire to warm the body, the invite into conversation with locals just re-inforced a real comfortable feel. Landlord was real busy, but always managed his best smile and little quips to make us at ease, thus putting it on our 'Must visit again' list.

Room Tip: didnt stay overnight.

This was our second stay at the Streethead Inn, and one of many times when we have eaten there. The room was excellent, very clean and with the most stunning view over Bishopdale, with the window seat the perfect place to sit and read. Excellent atmosphere in the bar with a mix of locals and tourists, and decent beer to boot. The food has always been of a high quality and was so once again, with the steak and kidney pudding and duck our choices. The Full English was perhaps the largest I have ever had in a pub, and set me up nicely for the day. All in all, a great central base for visiting the Dales, and we shall return.

Room Tip: Rooms 4 and 5 look right out onto the dale. Stunning
