We went to this OPW site on Sunday and while it was difficult enough to find, it is a really interesting piece of Irish archaeology. When we arrived we were greeted at the reception and then we were given a great talk by the guide. He then showed us a video which provided essential background information on the site and the archaeological dig. We then proceeded in with the guide to view a section of the excavated Iron Age Trackway. It was beautifully preserved and is an amazing piece of Irish heritage. Outside, there is a modern walkway through the bog on the original site of the trackway. There is also a nice picnic area. This site is also free entry. While it is one the less well known tourist sites, it is definitely worth a visit!
