Spent a night here on our holy week vacation (Holy Thu - Good Fri).
> There were quite a number of guests but it didn't "feel" too crowded.
> The waiters who attended to us during our stay were very courteous, helpful, and accommodating. One of them, Neil, even went the extra mile when he took our order of the house special, turon, at breakfast even when it wasn't normally served for breakfast AND even though he had to wake up the owner of the resort herself, who strictly insists that she herself cooks the turon.
> Speaking of which, their turon (banana fritters) served with their special dip (which tasted coffee- and caramel-like) was veeery good and even at par with some of the desserts served at 5-star hotels in the Philippines. I highly recommed it. Other dishes our family enjoyed were the grilled pork belly (insarabasab, they call it), kilawin (which went well with the insarabasab), ginataang pinakbet, grilled squid stuffed with ilocos longanisa, and fish & chips.
> The Game Room, equipped with tables for billiards, air hockey, pingpong, and foosball which though dated provided a great amount of fun for the whole family AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! Other freebies include free massage and free champorado for breakfast.
> The Souvenir Shop, which though small had a good variety of awesome (and cheap!) finds. And to think I don't usually buy from souvenir shops.
> Beach was just ok, nothing to rave about and actually quite a disappointment. It's a public beach: meaning, non-guests swim with you, random vehicles pass along the shore, some garbage (even dog poop) can be found along the shore too. Also, it's a grey sand beach. One good thing about it though is that the sand is very fine (not "rocky" like the one in Pagudpud).
> Pool wasn't very clean. Plus, you can tell it's quite old.
> Bed mattress felt nice--just the right level of firmness. Bathroom looked newly renovated, sort of, but the bathtub was a little too deep, which made it quite a struggle to get out of the shower.
> TV had good cable connection with a number of nice channels to choose from.
VERDICT: This resort would really work for me if it had better location--like if it were located in Pagudpud along Blue Lagoon or Maira-Ira. The rooms were fine, the food and the table service were delightful, and the freebies (free massage per room, free champorado for breakfast, free use of game room) added an extra fun factor. I just couldn't help but be disappointed with the beach and the pool; after all it did take us a good 10 hours to get to the resort. They should definitely exert more effort in prettifying the beach (at the very least, just make sure it's garbage-free) and the pool area. If these two things improve, I might just consider going back.
