Description: Surrounded by woodland on the edge of Windlesham near Sunningdale Golf Course, The Brickmakers is a fine example of a traditional pub restaurant, with a large garden and ample parking. The welcoming bar area has a roaring log fire and a snug with comfy sofas, and offers a range of home-cooked light lunches, evening bar meals and local ales. The Brickmakers restaurant is housed in a bright and airy conservatory: warm and cosy in winter, and cool and colourful in summer. The restaurant has an extensive British a la carte menu, with traditional classics such as Cumberland sausage and mash with crispy fried onions, and carved roasted gammon with free range fried hen eggs and chunky chips.

“Lovely stuff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

I have had two visits since they had a makeover in January, the first visit a week or so after they opened was superb, great food and service and our table looked into an open kitchen which is always a good sign. We then went for lunch for my dad's 80th. birthday, 12 of us, we were put in the conservatory which felt a bit like a motorway service station but the food and service was still excellent. My advice is to try it, but asked to sit in the front section.

“Great lunch and dinners at the Brickmakers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We live locally and have been here a few times for dinners as well as lunches. Food is freshfly prepared and tastes truly home cooked. The desserts are also homemade, which is increasingly rare for a country gastro pub. Service is friendly and quick, and the garden area is very nice on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We will be back!

“Good but not excellent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

I do wish TA would put a Good rating. We went last night, first time since the refurb and it was good (better than average but not very good). We hadn't booked but got a table in the restaurant part which was fairly busy for a Tuesday night. Wasn't impressed with the "What can I get you two" from the waiter when coming to order our meal. I ordered the mackeral special which when it came consisted of a butterflied fillet (although still had lots of bones) one halved grilled tomato sitting on a thick slice of toast with a bit of rocket salad, pretty uninspiring although tasted OK (after all what could you get wrong). Other half ordered the liver and bacon on bubble which was a generous portion although the bubble was fairly plain and the liver overcooked. We shared a cheese board which would have been excellent had it not been for the cheese being straight from the fridge. All in all having eaten here several times will give it another go.

“Great Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Since The Brickmakers has been refurbished we have been in there to eat four times. The food has always been good, we have had the Lamb to share twice on a Sunday (a little too pink in the middle for me) plenty of roast potatoes and vegetables. The Jam Roly Poly and Posh Jelly are fab. Steer clear of the Blackberry & Apple Pie (rather heavy). Scott, Simon, Alex and the Staff are always lovely and friendly. The only downside is it can be rather noisy in there during peak times, so we tend to book a little later in the day. Well worth a visit definitely one of our favourite local places to eat.
