“A Must-See in Thunder Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

These falls are just breath-taking! We were told early spring is when they are most powerful, and we were there Memorial Day Weekend and must agree they are awesome! Beautiful setting, several levels of lookout decks for great panoramic views which make your camera come out for sure! Those who need assistance with walking (walkers, canes, etc.) as well as strollers for small children need to be careful. It didn't look like the observation decks have handicap access. But there are places where one can see them from a reasonable distance. These falls are definitely worth a visit!

“Beautiful Falls - a Great Show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We live in Thunder Bay and enjoy going to see the falls at Kakabeka Falls at least once annually; we were there this past weekend. The water was still flowing very fast due to the spring run-off conditions; these falls exhibit a lot of power (a great show to watch as the roar of the water falling over the edge of the river and into the gorge below). There are nice trails and also look-out decks so you get a great view of the falls. This is a must to see; you won't be disappointed. Spring time is the best time to see the falls with the abundance of water flowing over them; fall time is also very nice with the trees along the banks of the river lined with the colourful fall colours.

“Kakabeka Falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Despite the Kakabeka Falls Motor Hotel being the only hotel within miles and nary a kitschy souvenir stand around, these falls far outstrip their gaudy counterpart in Niagara and that is fine with me. Its 40-metre height is exceeded only by Niagara Falls. Perhaps it is the picturesque surroundings all around it instead of the kitsch and greasy spoons and hotels that make it more attractive. It is every bit as beautiful in winter as in summer or any other time inbetween.

“I love this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

Simply a nice place to stop for a few minutes or a few hours. A short distance from Thunder Bay and you can see a nice waterfall, take a walk or have a picnic. There are also camping facilities onsite and a beach across the way.

A lovely place to be when the sun is setting!

“Spring visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

After this years heavy snow the falls were particularly impressive this spring. The attraction doesn't take too long to see but the boardwalks have several good vantage points to see the falls at all angles. Parents with young children and people with walkers or wheelchairs please note that there are lots of stairs to navigate and I didn't see ramps to all vantage points. Parents, if you have a baby carrier I recommend using it over a stroller!
