“Beautiful National Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We were there Last November 2012. The park is beautiful for trekking. Many people will spend more than 8 hours just to walk up there. We did for 4.30 hours. On the trail, you will find foods and drinks vendors and beautiful views on each stops section trail. When you were up on the top, you still have to walk to the campground for another 45-60 minutes. You can rent the bicycle at the arrival point and ride to the campground and return there (the cost of rental is a little expensive).
You also can rent the bicycle daily to go around the park (again is a little expensive). There are plenty of foods vendors up in the campground so you don't need to bring much food there. All views point spots in the park are far apart from the campground, so you need to walk from 45 minutes to couple hours to see the views (some 5-10 km one way). So bicycle is useful for a long distance of walks but the price is very steeps. If it is raining or after rain, beware of Leeches on the wet grasses in the campground bring foot protections along or purchase in the campground. We spend only one night there but definetely return when we have more time and better prepared.

“Wonderful trekking trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

I just returned from the park last night with my family. The trailhead opens at 7am and prior to that you can arrange for a porter to carry items you may not want to carry with you. The cost is 400 baht for tourists and 40 baht for Thai nationals. Some folks get worked up over dual pricing, so be advised.
It costs 15baht per kilogram for a porter. The first 800m and the last 1300m of the 5.5km ascent are challenging, with the midway portion being a easy climb, no equipment is required for any portion of the climb.
Once at the top, you have around 3200m to the campground, but the terrain is level, and the walk is nice.
Inside the campground, a tent site can be rented for 30 baht a night if you brought your own tent, or 350 baht to rent tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and a pillow.
The activities on top of the mesa include numerous nature trails to walk and observe. When I was there animal activity was non-existent, but the flora was nice, with many native orchids to see.
Again, inside the campground you will find food, showers, and all of the necessities required of a modern lifestyle. To charge your phone costs 20 baht. DTAC service was spotty, but AIS worked fine.
Please understand that this location is quite crowded, and if your expectations are of a quiet, commune with nature, don't bother walking up.
My family and I had a great time, and we will definitely return when we can stay longer.
I recommend this park.

“Fit test at Phu Kradueng National Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

The best part of this trip was that I and my friend could walk and talk (because it was quite long walking distance). I was there for three days and walked in total 55km. Most of the daytime activity was walking from one place to another, to see sun set and sun rise.

There are several restaurants along the hills, the best one is Chompoomameaw Coffee shop at Pha Lom Sak (walked about 9.5 km from the tourist center), the owner is very friendly and you can also charge your battery for cellphone or camera there.
