“A deserved award-winner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

My wife and I stayed at Dreamcatchers on 23 and 24 December and found that the 2012 Travelers’ Choice award that it won was richly deserved.

The B&B, which is composed of a traditional Thai house and a couple of cottages, is located in a residential area a few kilometres away from the heart of Chiang Mai. This means taxi trips have to be arranged to go to the city centre, but it also means peace and quiet is guaranteed. We woke up one morning to the chanting of monks in a temple nearby.

Our room, in one of the cottages, is spacious, clean and stylishly laid out. The common area in Thai house is cozy. Apart from having meals there, we also had chats with Annabel the very friendly Canadian owner, her American friend living nearby and other guests, and played with the three dogs which Annabel adopted while living in India and took with her to Thailand some years ago.

Breakfast – a combination of buffet-style and made-to-order – was nice. The homemade fruit salad and muesli, in particular, were something to rave about.
Annabel is a very hospitable and thoughtful host. She provided helpful advice and makes meticulous arrangements to facilitate our travel. The bicycle tour she recommended was enjoyable and was great value for money. She was also very fair in her dealings with us.

We learned to appreciate the quality of Dreamcatchers even more when we went to Chiang Rai afterwards and stayed at a place with rooms which were 25 percent more expensive but nowhere near as good.

Dreamcatchers is a gorgeous big house in a quiet area a taxi ride away from town. We just loved this as you could return in the evening after a busy day and just relax. Annabel was the best host you could ask for. We called on her a number of times to ask what activities and day trips to do and she was always ready to sit down with you and help. Annabel and her staff were so helpful towards my partner and I when we both lost something important, they could not help enough and we are very thankful for their help. The rooms are just beautiful. We stayed in the junior suite for a few days which was pure luxury with a jacuzzi on the balcony. It was just gorgeous! We even decided to return a couple of days later for our second stay in the blue room which was just as lovely. The breakfast was a feast! A must try is the homemade yoghurt and crepes. We chose to have dinner on a few nights as well you must try the Thai food, it was lovely!
This was the best place we stayed in our month in Thailand and we would definitely return. A big thank you to Annabel and her staff and her three gorgeous dogs for a memorable stay in Chiang Mai!

Room Tip: Any room is a winner!

We didn't know you but after we left we felt like we had a friend. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Breakfast of yogurt and fruit with a crepe on the side was wonderful. The driver of our taxi that we had for our three days was great...I left my purse in the taxi and when I figured it out and called him to meet me he had just been waiting for the call. The calm and quiet of the most excellent evening dinners ended a hectic day of walking in the chaos and clamour of the city. We had so much fun with C & C and your other guests at dinner...sharing and comparing experiences in this most beautiful area in Thailand. All our love to Skinny, Tripod & Fiona.

Dreamcatchers is a wonderful place to stay if you're visiting the Chiang Mai area. It's a bit of a taxi ride away from the city, but that's one of its appeals. It's located in a lovely residential area and one feels at home here. The property is gorgeous with beautifully appointed rooms, an infinity pool and lounge and bar poolside. Anabel is incredibly helpful whether it's arranging for taxis or helping to organize trip and activities. She even picked up coffee I liked so I could take it home for my mother. Thanks again, Anabel.

We ate dinner there several nights and the food was terrific. And, by the way, Anabel makes fantastic crepes too!

We stayed there with our two children, ages 10 and 13 and they loved it too. I'd highly recommend it!

During China National Day Holiday, we spent one week stayed in Dreamcathers B&B. It's a liitle far away from Chiang Mai City, so there's not many tourist. We took a very relaxing holiday. The owner, Annabel is so nice as other reviews said. However, what's impressed us most is that Dreamcathers do have a great Chef. Their homemade food is very delicious and cheap. Recommend everyone who stay there must try.

Whether you are staying in Chiang Mai on a relaxing holiday or keen to be kept busy sightseeing and shopping, Dreamcatchers has it all.Located at the end of a quiet country lane amongst other large quality homes, Dreamcatchers has been designed in the traditional Thai style with teak stairways and verandas, timber floors and tasteful, comfortable furnishings. Each individually placed room has its own private balcony or patio overlooking a peaceful waterway amongst natural tropical gardens abundant with birdlife, butterfly's and even squirrels.A fullsize salt pool is adorned with an exquisite elephant waterfall backdrop and the cabana has comfortable outdoor lounges and hammocks. Our host Annabel could not have been more helpful and friendly, offering us information and booking our daily tours, massage, and transport to enable us to experience the real Thailand. She was keen to here our stories after a day out always available for a chat and wine. The meals at Dreamcatchers were all wonderful, the homemade museli, fruit salad and yoghurt, topped off with Annabel's Thai omelette for breakfast, so yummy. We only ate the Thai dinner choices, the Penang curry was devine, but am sure the continental menu would be equally as good.We stayed in the Blue room for 8 nights and would highly recommend the overall awesome experience we had at Dreamcatchers.Thank you Annabel and your 3 lovely dogs, Skinny, Fifi and Tripod.

Room Tip: We had the Blue room which was large and airy with a lovely view over the canal and natural gardens.
