“Nice Hotel at Don Muang”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The hotel is maybe 2 or 3 km from the old Don Muang Airport. This hotel has reasonably clean and nice rooms. Rooms are big and with free wifi. Ideal for travellers that flies in by Don Muang Airport and do not want to stay in town area due to the traffic. There is the IT mall just besides it and there are plenty of little cafes and eating outlets to choose from. I find the prices here cheaper than I had expected (I have been travelling all over Thailand for the last 25 years)

Room Tip: Ask for a room which do not have the aircon duct facing you direct. Although is is central aircon, i...

We stayed here for one week, it was close enough to all of our plans, it also had a clothes market right outside.
The website is so old and we were expecting the hotel to look shabby and past its sell by date, but we were pleasantly surprised!! room was clean with balcony and fridge, restaraunt was clean, with great food, beauticians was a little pricey compared to other places around, but still cheap to westerners, pool and small gym also.
Staff were friendly and polite.
Shame about their website, if they updated their pictures they would probably entice more customers!

The hotel is quite old. Do not choose room with carpet! The arrangement of facility in the room is ok, but it was not clean. Food (main dish and dessert) does not delicious. Breakfast is so so. Coffee does not good. Meeting rooms were so so. Some meeting rooms are very small. The room did not come with wireless or LAN service. Extra charge for internet does not cheap.

Room Tip: Do not choose floor 16th, if you do not like a lot of dust inside the very old carpet.

Don´t book via Hotel homepage! Too expensive. Old house, industrial area nearby, very bad breakfast, renovated rooms-but not a 4* standard. Free transfer to Don Muang Airport (DMK).
Better take other Hotels in this area for same price as Amari or Miracle Grand Convention.

First, hotel guests needed to go up 10 floor to find the lobby, then changed to another elevator to reach hotel room. Elevators are small, slow and always congested with people.

Room was clean and sleep was comfortable, but all other amenities were rather dated. No internet LAN provided in room, charges for WIFI were ridiculously high for only 512 kbps speed. Only a handful of channels on the TV, and no free drinking water was provided.

Huge crowd during breakfast time (~7:30am), hardly any chance to select preferred food items when there's a long queue behind.

Close proximity to Don Muang airport is probably the only selling point for this rather basic hotel. During morning peak hours (~8:15am) to Don Muang airport, it took us about 20 minutes to get through the traffic under the tollway, taxi fare ~THB 70.

The hotel is located above the department store specializing in IT stuff and many food stalls are available in front of the hotel: the hotel could be an interesting place, especially to those who are fond of IT. The food court is in the store, so it is convenient for meals as well. But it is not that close to the downtown Bangkok and there is a heavy traffic jam in the nearby area oftentimes. While the stay was pleasant and satisfactory, therefore I don’t’ think I would like to choose a hotel in this area unless I have business in this area.

Location is not so convenient unless, as another reviewer pointed out, you are flying out of Don Muang. Staff was friendly and polite, room was very nice & clean, gym is a bit small but equipment was newer & maintained. WIFI was RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Would not hesitate to stay here again for a night or two.
