“Another good night sleep”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Over the past six months I have stayed here on a regular basis, last night as normal, it was quite late when I checked in. Monica in reception was friendly and chatty as we sorted my booking issue.

My room was what I had come to expect as standard for here, lovely bed and snugly duvet.

The chef made me something not on the menu at request with no quibble.

This is so much nicer than the other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: If your staying for leisure book a room that over looks the racecourse - there are amazing sunrises...

Hotel rooms were lovely, evening meal and breakfast were very enjoyable. Despite the kitchen staff inappropriate banter being heard very clearly whilst trying to enjoy our meal. But what really let it down was the spa, tried to book appointment a week prior to stay and was inform I could only have a mud treatment. I did not want a mud treatment but no explanation was given as to why a staff member was available for that treatment but no other. Also found my correspondence with the spa to be unacceptable, had to email as could not get through on the phone. Found my response from 'Ellie' to be exceptionally rude.
The spa facilities we were able to use were very small, including the relaxation room. And the changing area was dirty. Also despite staying at the hotel no robe or appropriate foot wear available.
Ending up booking spa treatments at the near by Felbridge Hotel and would highly recommend them for future stays.

This place could have been fantastic but to be honest was just a bit creepy.

Finding the place in the dark was a nightmare - Sat Nav was remarkably accurate but as it was dark and the signage completely unlit I drove past it twice (as did my colleagues in their own cars).

The car park is some way from the hotel although this wasn't too bad as it was empty.
I had to wait 10 minutes to check in with only one person in front of me - The bar was empty and people were milling around but none of the staff seemed to want to pop over to reception and hid in the office.

Foodwise we ate in the restaurant and the meal was very good (but very expensive as well).
Our meeting overlooked the race track and was very inspiring but the team there have not been trained particularly well and while I can overlook most things racist jokes are not one of them.
It was like going back in time to the 1970's. There didn't seem to be any management at the hotel just a bunch of people in uniforms wandering round.

Wouldn't stay there again, or recommend it to anyone which is a shame as location is quite nice.

While dinner was fantastic - breakfast was pretty poor with yesterdays newspapers still sitting around, and didnt feel particularly welcomed. Was glad to hit the road.

Met by excellent staff who are friendly and helpful. The rooms look out on the racecourse and was clean and spacious. The Chef was helpful in making dishes for my diet and the breakfast team under Ron excel. The gym and pool are small but well equipped and clean enabling you to work out the days stress. I will be back again great hotel hotel for any corporate traveller.

Arrived and was given robes , dirty changing area, complained to ginger colleague about sizing of robes embarrassing as didnt fit all colleague just laughed , she said most people who come are slim ? Really average size today are 16+ .THe pool was cold not enough beds to go around so sat onthe floor . We decided to have some lunch after waiting over half hour for a menus the resturant manager with moody face took our orders , never saw her again , the nice black waiter looked after us , the food was ok but noting special just took forever to come .it wasn't busy so how , why was it so painfully slow ??? Word of advice , don't bother !!

We stayed for 1 night in between Christmas and New Year, the hotel was relatively quiet. We had a superior room over looking both the golf course and the race track fab views. The balconies are lovely to have even in the winter! We ate in the restaurant I have to say the food was great beautifully presented. We had a spa treatment the floowing day, again this was nice the only down side was some of the treatment rooms are located next to the pool, not ideal if you are looking to escape the noise! Overall a good stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a superior room it beats looking over the hotel entrance.

Spent a night here on our way out from Gatwick the next morning, and were very happy at the price we paid.
The hotel is not easy to find, with no illuminated road signage easily visible (at least on a wet January night). You have to enter the Racecourse to find the hotel, which backs onto the seating & the racecourse itself. Our room had a fantastic view over the track.
Room up to usual Marriott standards, and breakfast was a fine buffet, only lacking Nutella to be complete.
Service was good but a bit slow.
The pool area & fitness room are great, but be careful if travelling as a family, as the pool is closed to children from 11.00-15.00.
All in all, a very relaxxing overnight stay in a well run hotel.
