Description: The Bull Inn, Wimborne St Giles, has been transformed from what was a very tired looking village pub near the Cranborne chase in to what is now a comfortable, light, yet firmly rural destination. The menu offers delicious modern British cooking at its best, prepared by our Chef, Ian Craddock. From dishes such as home cooked venison pies to salt baked Bream, there is something for everyone using local ingredients in the daily changing menu. The wine list offers an array of wines by the glass, along with a changing bin end list offering superb value Chateaux & Domaines from France. We have three real ale pumps on hand to quench the thirst, with ales from local brewers.

“Lovely lunch, service needs a bit of a polish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Visited the Bull today with mum and dad for lunch. It was a bit stuffy last time but has changed hands again-now much improved and quite a relaxed atmosphere.

All courses were delicious- I had scallops (large, fresh, perfectly cooked) which were beautifully presented, followed by beef rib roast which was delicious and served with actual fresh veg (not the cooked earlier and microwaved variety!!)

We then all had an eaten mess which was lovely. Cream could have been sweeter however.

Overall, really impressed, will return. Only slight issue was service-took ages for my place setting as table was set for two, and the table water never arrived, despite asking x3.

“lovely evening out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

having visited the bull on several occasions over the last few years it amazes me that it still keeps producing great food and service when staff is constantly changing, however, it was nice to see a familiar face in the barman when we visited on a saturday evening (he even remembered our drink order).
the bull was the busiest we have seen it since we started visiting, the restaurant, conservatory and garden were full of customers and the bar was busy as well, and the reasons were clear. Food coming out of the kitchen was beautifully cooked and came out at a decent pace, my seabass in particular was amazing. Although there were just two waitresses and one barman, service was efficient and friendly and everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing and nothing seemed rushed, this was all the more impressive as apparently the manager was not around for this busy shift.

“Great food, pretty location, fantastic service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

We went here for dinner and were impressed by the refurbishments. The menu was interesting and modern. My hubby had game pie and I had seabass on samphire. It was truly delicious - the only criticism would be the portions were a tiny bit slim. But the staff were attentive and really helpful. A great night - thank you!

“The Pie has changed!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

A change of management has led to a change of menu.
Whilst pie is still on the menu it is no longer a feature dish always available.
Afraid the last one was not to the same standard as previously experienced!
Still however better than many.
When we visited the warmth of the welcome was also less than with the previous owners.

“Chic inn in a beautiful village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Great food and a lovely location.
Food was hot and plenty of veg served with Sunday lunch.
Small menu but something for everyone. Staff aim to please and helpful.
Price more expensive than a normal pub Sunday lunch but nice and relaxed.
