“Nice, but could be great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

This is a lovely hotel with a very cool evening bar/restaurant scene. Lots of beautiful people. Rooms are very nice and plenty big. Overall service is pleasant. Location is fabulous - steps from the beach and lots of wonderful shops & restaurants.
We arrived Friday evening minutes after another couple. There was one valet on duty apparently solely responsible for taking care of the cars and greeting guests. We were left standing in the street unloading our bags on our own and then schlepping them up to the front desk after not being greeted until we initiated contact. Not a great first impression. There were a couple of hotel personnel at the front desk, but apparently only one person could do check in. So we waited while the folks in front of us completed their check in. Things improved after being presented with glasses of Veuve :). Nice touch. Very sweet gal gave us a tour of the hotel. It is a very pretty hotel. The weather was not very wam during our stay, so we did not use the pool or jacuzzi, but they looked nice - albeit small. We spent the one very sunny day we had on the beach. Loved that. It is easy to reach and Warren did a great job out there. I hear they will soon be offering food and cocktail service out at the beach, which would be fabulous. We did use the spa services. Average at best. They do the services in curtained off cabanas pool side. Takes away a bit from a relaxing massage to hear the chatter of other guests and a child. They tout their iPads in each room and the techie touches. However, I found it perplexing that you could neither view a menu of spa services, nor book your spa appointment on the provided iPad. It also did not include menus for the hotel restaurant. I loved the decor of the restaurant and the food was very good, not excellent, but very good. Was not busy at breakfast, didn't check it out at lunch, but the dinner scene was hopping. Seemed like the place to be in Rosemary Beach for late night cocktails. Turn down service was excellent, as was housekeeping overall. I wish the bathrooms had double sinks. Also, there is a niche just off the room entry that is crying out for a full length mirror. Otherwise, only mirror is the one over the sink in the bathroom and part of that is obscured by the tv in the mirror (I did enjoy that, though). The room doors are gorgeous, heavy wood. Beautiful to look at, but they make a racket when closing them. I knew each night when our "neighbors" arrived in. Lastly, unbeknownst to us, we happened to book our stay during Rosemary Uncorked - what looked like a very cool wine and food festival. When we saw the posters for the event, we asked the front desk about it. We were told (1) the hotel had had some package for it and (2) the tickets were sold out. It was disappointing to me that this event/package had never been mentioned to me at booking or prior to our arrival. It also would have been nice if the staff had expressed any interest in trying to procure tickets for us instead of just flatly stating they were sold out.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Part of that is due to just loving Rosemary Beach in general. But the hotel really was nice and has potential to be great.

Thank your for your thoughtful comments - we really appreciate the feedback so that we can make the adjustments needed to fully satisfy a guest like yourself. I am sorry that we failed in certain areas and we are working hard on correcting those issues but we were happy the we did well in other areas. As for Rosemary Uncorked it is unfortunate that this event is such a hit that they sell out their event within days of going on sale. If you plan to come again please book a bit in advance and we can arrange for tickets for you.

Nice, new and clean hotel but the details are lacking. There are service issues in housekeeping, the restaurant and at the desk that don't add up to a $400+/night hotel. It's a "green" hotel which translates to rooms that do not cool adequately. Motion sensors detect when you are in your room...except if you're sleeping, then you wake up hot and have to move around the room to get it cool again. Did not know there was a spa until the last day when we found it. Nothing in the room, including the iPad describes a spa or services. The TV system is ultra modern and very cumbersome to use. Food quality is comparable to 30A a standards but service is not. I believe they need a good year to work out the bugs.

Room Tip: For the money, go to Watercolor.

Reviewer 90dawgs did a great job in his September 2013 post. He covered the extraordinary amenities of this beautiful luxury hotel; therefore, I will simply "Ditto" his review. The only negative aspect of our 8 night stay...was having to leave! The entire staff gave us the impression of being focused on making our stay a memorable one. Fortunate to meet Michael Votta, General Manager, and now appreciate how his staff display such a personal approach to guests of the hotel. From the front desk, we were impressed with Parker Klein, Lindsey, Rita, and others. Great beach service from Warren, Sumner, & Drew. Remiss if I failed to recognize great work of Elvis and others on the door. Shoutout to the housekeeping staff. The "turn-down service" has my wife still smiling. Celebrated my birthday during our stay; Thank-You Lindsay, and everyone else responsible for the treats left in our room. I am writing this review on our return home, and wife and I are missing The Pearl... big-time!!! :-)

Room Tip: With 55 rooms, you will have a nice view of either the Gulf, the SOL Luna pool, or the cobbled stree...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary at the hotel this past weekend. With The Pearl being new, I was a little nervous about them having all the kinks worked out. I must tell you, The Pearl exceeded all expectations. With the ease of access of this hotel, either through the new NW FL airport, or a drive from Atlanta, I don't know why you'd go anywhere else in Florida.

To keep the review simple, I’ll break it down:

Staff /Service– Outstanding. This is a staff that really like their jobs and where they work. Everyone at the hotel treats you like a VIP rock star. Within an hour, they all knew our names. Didn’t a moment go by that we didn’t feel appreciated for staying at The Pearl. Special shoutouts to Bob and Kristi at the bar. Warren from the bellman’s desk. Brenda and Ginny at the front desk. Finally the housekeeping staff, for all the nice notes at turn down service and the delicious treats (rotation of homemade cookies and fudge).

Rooms: We stayed in room 412 which is a top floor corner unit, with views from two sides. If you’ve not read the full description, all the rooms are synced up to both an ipad and a smart button system. Extremely cool and functional. They even have Apple TV hooked up and you can sync your itunes account into the room and hear your favorite play lists. Our particular room had French doors out of the main room that looked down on the cobbled street below, with all the shops, restaurants, and galleries. The French doors out of our bathroom, looked at the Pool, Sol Luna bar, and the ocean. Linens were phenomenal. The bed was so comfortable, I made note of the manufacturer so we can buy a matching set for our house. The bathtub was a new dolphin jetted tub with so many gadgets we couldn’t get to them all. Additional touch that made an impact on a seasoned traveler….the glass canister in the bathroom with regular sized q-tips and cotton balls.

Hotel and Grounds: Beautiful, Clean, hip, and very cool! Like any high end hotel you’d stay at, they have all the amenities you could ever ask for. Because the hotel is so new, you feel like you’re the very first person to stay in your room. The pool area is very cool, with awesome spa cabanas surrounding the water. The pool bar, Sol Luna, looks like a dream oasis. Beautiful cabanas, awesome furniture, awesome ocean views, and cool water features. The Havana Restaurant and bar is great and very hip, food and service were phenomenal, and it’s a place you could hang out with friends, or enjoy a wonderful white table cloth meal. Architecture and design are outstanding. Everything from the moldings, to the curved walls, and the art work were well thought out and designed.

Value: It may feel a little expensive at first, but when you look at what you're getting, the hotel is a very big bang for the buck. Your rate includes most incidentals that are usually an up charge at other hotels. Parking is valet and included. Your beach chair service is included (typically $20 per day if you rented a condo). The hotel even has it’s own patch of sand on the beach reserved for guests, which is extremely important during peak times. Quality of the linens are second to none

A group of us recently stayed at The Pearl; it had only been open for three weeks. You'd never know it- these guys have their act together. From check-in, where we were handed flutes of Clicquot Rose to enjoy while checking in, to the turn-down service of freshly made marshmallows and flickering candles, this place aims to exceed expectations and does. The food at the bar was equally outstanding. Was talked into the soft shell crab sandwich for lunch by two people who were so insistent that I ordered it just to shut them up... I don't even like soft shell crab. Well, I do now.. it was fabulous! So many good details; nestled in the picturesque village of Rosemary Beach, this place will be "the" place to stay on the Florida Panhandle.
