“Lovely tea rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We called in the Dandelion cafe after a walk around the lake and had a cream tea there, which I have to say was very good - the scone was huge & delicious, but the only downside of it was the cream - which seemed to me to be the squirty variety (I could be wrong) but it would have been so much nicer with the good thick stuff. However we still enjoyed them and the cafe is a wonderful big bright cheerful place, and perfect to have a rest after a walk. They also serve draught beer too, which was a plus-point as far as my other-half was concerned :-) We'd definitely visit again for scones and maybe try some of their other food - which all looked delicious.

“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Went for the first time to the Dandelion Cafe on the weekend to take a break from studying! Had a lovely chili con-carny! Very generous portion for a great price. Had a food baby afterwards! Lovely polite staff, lovely geordie waiter! ;) haha! Would highly recommend, such a shame its so hidden and not very advertised!

“Great food at bottom of Cat Bells”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Great food and warm service and lovely grounds in this strange HF hotel. The parking was really easy and we had soup of the day, ham hock, fish and chips - and lots of lovely home made cakes. Really good.

“Lovely food, friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

We had lunch here twice whilst in the Lake District. The first time we both had panninis which were very good, quite filling & competitively priced. The second time I had the sweet potato & spinach curry and my husband had the steak & ale stew. The portions were a really good size - we didn't need to eat anything for the rest of the day - and reasonably priced at £7.95 & £8.25 respectively. The food was of good quality and was well presented. The view over Derwentwater is stunning and there is outside seating. Inside the cafe is very modern. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
