“In a lovely village not far from the M5”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

The Old Bakery is interesting in its own right with lots of original features and has lovely gardens. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was extremely generous and tasty with an excellent range of choices, but in any event David and Sarah, who are warm and generous hosts, are more than happy to cater for any special requests if at all possible. We were only staying one night en route to Cornwall but would happily have stayed longer.

I recently went to Devon for a ballon flight, which was cancelled because of bad weather. My girlfriend booked a b & b that wasn't expensive, near the flight location, so we did not have far to travel at 6am. We weren't expecting much from the accommodation, just a base to lay our heads. Man were we wrong. This b & b was perfect. So good that I would say its the best b & b that I have ever stayed in. Reasons below:
Welcomed by the nicest people
The most amazing garden
Room was immaculate
They welcomed us into their home like freinds
We had to fly at 6am ( they offered to make us breakfast before the flight, incredible )
I could keep going, the list would be so long, but I will stop now by saying. If you are looking for a b & b, look no further. You just hit the jackpot.
P.s. the location pictures do not do justice to the old bakery.

stayed here 2nd june 2012 with my husband and grandaughter for a week rooms were spotless and much bigger than we expected breakfast was fantastic with a great choice i would say it is the best b&b we have ever stayed in . our hosts david and sarah were very welcoming and made us feel like we were part of the family. We were very sad to leave- my granddaughter even cried when it was time to go, we left feeling like we had made friends for life and will certainly go back and recomend this accommodation They definitely deserve their 5star rating.

Room Tip: Have very themed rooms eg. Paris room had french photos!

We booked this B&B as it is very close to our friends who were having a birthday celebration. We found it to be everything you look for in a B&B. A great breakfast, hosts that cannot make you feel more welcome and a comfortable large bed in a room that was spotlessly clean. It's a lovely house with lots of history and has a delightful garden.

Highly recommended accommodation, very stylish and upmarket. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. We stayed in the spacious and beautifully decorated New England en-suite room, complete with a sofa, good sized flat screen tv and tea / coffee making facilities. Hosts were charming and friendly, and the full English breakfast was excellent. Although it was mid winter we could see that the large hidden garden would be a great place to relax in warmer weather with it's fine views to the surrounding hills and countryside. Great location, in a picturesque and tranquil Devon village, yet accessible from the motorway and easy to find. Certainly worth a stay.

As your park outside you think its a small terrace house , and inside its like a tardis with lots of space and light . Hosts were delightful made us very welcome . Breakfast was tasty and generous portions! We would happily stay here again .

Room Tip: The top floor suite was great if you wanted more than one room staying with family or friends

The photograph of the front of this property really does it no credit at all! What a lovely house, full of great charm and character, and a fantastic hidden garden in which we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea. The facilities are all very new, the bedrooms very well appointed and comfortable, and the games room was much enjoyed by our two boys. Our hosts were always most helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home! Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: Top floor suite is ideal for families

The Old Bakery is a comfortable and stylish Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the village of Uffculme in Mid-Devon. The property is about 300 years old and although totally modernised, retains many of its original features. The bakery has now been converted into a games room which is popular with our younger (and older!) visitors. In our home you have a choice of four comfortable rooms with en suite and private bathrooms and single, double and 4-poster beds. The large rooms have space for an extra fold-up bed on request.
