“Great Golf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

We had a chance to play this course and it is magnificent. It is built on a lava bed, shots from the tees have to be accurate or a bounce off the lava rock will send your ball sky high and leave a nice mark on it (obviously I did that) but hole 17, is the North's signature hole, par 3, measuring 140 yards, and requires a tee shot from an elevated tee to a green that is framed by a natural lava amphitheatre, and a favorite "I was here" photo spot. Check out their website for special green fees.

“Great Father & Son round”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

This was the second time I played the South course... Yes, It's pretty expensive, but it is a very beautiful and well-maintained course. Nice rentals (Taylor Made Burner woods & 2.0 irons) but bring your SkyCaddie from home, 'cos determining yardages is tough using only 150-yard markers and far-too-few sprinker heads.

“Not cheap, but gorgeous and luxurious... probably still worth it. :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

Golfed 18 at Mauna Lani South. Most beautiful course I've ever seen. Impeccably maintained. The lava will eat you up if you are out of bounds, but the difficulty level overall was very reasonable even for a poor golfer like myself. I even birdied #16 (my first birdie ever!). Rental clubs were well-used TaylorMade Burner 2.0, but still very decent. $250 for a round with clubs isn't cheap, but it's honestly worth paying for a fabulous golf course with multiple gorgeous ocean views. I mean, we watched whales breaching from 3 different holes, for God's sake. Try and find THAT somewhere else. ;)

“Over priced golf course!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

The North Course was $185 per person ($385.41 for 2 including taxes). The course is beautifully manicured, however, the only yardage markers were for 150 yards! We found a few sprinkler heads marked. Determining yardage was a big problem particularly with the extreme wind conditions on this course. There is no GPS on the carts and for this price there should be. We expected a spectacular course and were disappointed. BEWARE!

“Play the South course if you prefer more ocean views… Truly spectacular!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

We played on Sunday with a tee time of 1:36 PM. The rates are very good after 1 PM. We experienced very little waiting and were finished by about 6 PM. Number 15 is a par three and one of the most spectacular ocean holes I have ever played.
