“Private Beach Club open 4 PM Wed-Sat for non-members”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We had a condo with "Beach Club Privileges" but see they are open for dinners for non-members some nights. We booked our last night’s dinner there. It is popular, so reservations are needed. The staff gave us a table where our granddaughter’s stroller was out of the way beside our table- I had asked for such a table when I made the reservation so they wouldn’t be inconvenienced. Fun drinks, although my son-in-law said the shave ice martini was more like a snow cone. Nice dinner and live Hawaiian music in a beautiful setting once reserved for Hawaiian royalty.

“Private Club/Fabulous Meals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Fairmont Hotel got us in to Napua twice. We had customers with us both times and it was excellent. Sits on the ocean and a beautiful restaurant. Great food and service...highly recommend and appreciate them allowing us to dine there.

“great spot for beachy lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

You can't beat the setting and beauty of this casual, better-than-a-beach-hut spot. Our lunches were delicious, light, inventive. We always make time after a swim at the small beach just outside the restaurant. Clean, great service, relaxed. We felt the cost was appropriate. The building helps shield you from the ever-present breeze/wind/hurricane...depending on the day! Refreshing!

“Hard to find, great atmosphere, good seafood.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

We loved the fried calamari steak appetizer, but disappointed that we had not finished it before our main course arrived. The mahi and shrimp combo was tasty. Our friend enjoyed the ahi tuna. The mud pie was large and good, but a bit pricey at $17.00. We were happy that they have a cork fee for only $20.00. We luckily had a bottle of wine in the car. I hear it is great for sunset. (We did have a hard time finding it at night.) Aloha!

“Not so good this time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We enjoyed a dinner at Napua last year with good results. Good entertainment, good service and good food – not so much this year. I guess we should have expected as much as this year there were empty tables. The drinks were weak but the calamari appetizer was excellent. The service was off, our second round of drinks were very slow to come. However, if you want to be served your dinner as quickly as you finish the appetizer, this is the place to come. The ribs came almost at room temperature and were over cooked, not juicy but crisp. Then the dinner was slow to be cleared and the payment of the check was also slow. The entertainment was also a step down from last year. It was little more than background guitar music.

Overall, not a great experience, there are a number of better restaurants with better ambience on the Kohala coast. I don’t expect to be returning.
