We have been twice more since I last reported; the food remains first class. The first occasion was with friends who emigrated to the States. They have eaten all over the world, and in some fine places when back in Blighty. Their opinion? Never eaten better! The most recent trip was on Wednesday this week, and the remaining Bistro Menu main course items that we were yet to savour were the selections of the evening. The garlic mushrooms on brioche was, as ever, superb. My smoked salmon with curried potato salad more so. My good lady's fish, chips and mushy peas (there's fish, chips and mushy peas, M&S fish, chips and mushy peas and then there's Bistro 62's fish, chips and mushy peas!!!) was perfect, and my Aberdeen Angus burger with all the trimmings fantastic. Dessert was too much for my dining companion, but I just about managed the raspberry and vanilla panna cotta - breath-takingly good for a 'cold' pud (I prefer something more rib-sticking usually). With a bottle of wine and a large white too, the bill of £45 was almost embarrassing for what we had and the quality remains very high. The question above (Is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant?) was given a No. Why? Because they're all knock-out!
