Elsewhere you’ll find the African Savannah where you can feed giraffes as well as see the rhinos and lions along with the hyenas, cheetahs and baboons. In the Animals of the Americas section you’ll get to see a rare Galapagos tortoise along with the marmosets, alligators and macaws. In the Asian Rainforest there are orang-utans, sun bears and Komodo dragons along with towering Asian elephants.Make sure you spend some time with the zoo’s botanic collection, with incredible plants from across the country, including everything from roses to huge palm trees.Located in the south of Perth just over three kilometres from the city centre, the Perth Zoo is open every day including major holidays. Went there with my daughter a couple of times. Loved the playgrounds. Good place to spend a full day.

“A zoo experience down-under”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

A short ferry ride across the Swan River from the CBD, the zoo is located in South Perth. The walk along Mends street is delightful as you pass several restaurants, the area is bustling during the day and also nighttime.
The zoo is very well stocked with a vast array of animals. I especially enjoyed the Orangutan enclosure which is well designed with lots of high level and ground level areas for the animals to enjoy. I enjoyed also to come very close to the Rhinos when the keepers were giving them a wash. The tigers were fantastic and the only area I thought was slightly poor was the indiginous animals enclosure. There were very few Koalas although the Tasmanian Devils were interesting. Overall this was a great day out and well worth the entrance fee. The zoo is well kept and clean.

“Very average for city Zoo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

I went recently with our three grand children, apart from being well over price for entry, lets not go with the snacks as even a small bottle of water was $4 dollars, I won't say anymore, The Zoo itself is average the enclosures were neat tidy and the usual assortment of animals which of whom were hiding or not easily seen, my three grand children were wanting to leave after two hours! Don't plan to stay the whole day and take your our lunch and nibbles with you.

“Fun for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

A little small for a seasoned traveller, however still fun to take the kids to and spend a day outside. Its kept clean and the animals seem to be well kept.
