“The other reviews are wrong”

Wow I have not been around prior to experience any of the other people's dissatisfied experiences. I can say that I have always had an enjoyable experience here. The taxi fare from the airport is $15, not the price previously stated by someone else. I have also returned to this "lodge" as i have found the price, cleanliness and friendliness very inviting. Pricilla has been putting the hostel together for 8 months and in this time she has made changes; as per negative feed back. It is a hostel type environment excluding the noise of loud drunk customers and the cleanest hostel I have found. Yes it does have shared bathrooms but what do you want for $35 and up (don't know where the guy got $130). Pricilla is getting free wifi and is constantly asking permission to serve a free breakfast. Any bad experiences and reviews from guest have been or are being addressed. The bedding is brand new and don't be afraid to ask for extra's. Pricilla will go out of her way to help you feel comfortable. This is a place for the quiet and older traveler and or worker. Party animals need not bother, this place won't be fun for you. It is a great place to get some quiet rest and close to the airport for FIFO. It is the cleanest and quietest hostel I have found in Perth and like being away from the city noise. I will continue to return and look forward to the free wifi, free breakfast and HOPEFULLY TV's in the rooms.

I think you get what you pay for and you have to consider what you've paid, how long you're staying for and what expectations were when you booked.

* The room was clean & tidy
*Clean towels provided
*Pay & Go Internet provided
*Room size booked was more than adequate
*10 min walk to train station to Perth (please note, if you have just arrived in Perth and have notes and plan on using the train, it will cost $11 for a day pass and the machine only takes coins. You will get caught out at Perth if you haven't paid!
* Not a great distance from the Airport in a Taxi. It will cost between $35 - $40.

On the other hand:

*There was no breakfast provided. (Although if you walk around the corner and up the road there is a lovely Café called 'Gourmet Indulgence', which does one of the best breakfasts you will ever taste.
*Constant noise of horns at night from what I think were passing trucks on the main road.
*Shared bathrooms with other guests.
*No TV
*No tea making facilities.
*Bathroom not as clean

The price per night was on par with other similar establishments and I don't think I really received any more or less than what I expecting before hand. I did however only stay for one night and had I needed to stay for any longer, this would not have been satisfactory. However, you would need to pay considerably more for a room with its own bathroom and better facilities. It was lacking in some areas but I think I got what I paid for.

DISASTER area.

Booked this as it allegedly is close to Perth airport.

Perth hotels are pricey so figured this by airport was a decent buy. WORNG.

It is not close for starters - a $25 cab ride each way. A run down place absolutely in the middle of NOWHERE.

Looked like a Bikers convention was taking place.

Arrived late and desk had no record of our booking.com booking at $A130 a night for an alleged "larger suite with private bathroom".

Half asleep desk guy finally located booking.

The "suite" is an old room in this converted flop house type boarding place.

**NO** TV ... I have not even stayed at USA cheapsville roadside motels that do not have a TV.

NO soap for the shower, despite threadbare towels being provided.

Nothing done to room for years it looks like.

Our "KING" bed was 2 x wood sided singles pushed next to each other.

A kettle on table but no tea, coffee or milk or cups. ABSURD!

Indeed not even plastic cups or glasses in room for a drink to swallow tablets etc.

$130 a NIGHT --- $30 IS ABOUT RIGHT!?

Halve the price or avoid at all costs is my advice.
