“Beautiful ride in a horse-drawn carriage.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

A sunny Friday, 7th June, my husband and I wanted to see Dyrehaven - a large park located about 10 km north of Copenhagen.
You cannot bring your car into the park, but you can walk, ride a bicycle, or as we did go by Horse-drawn carriage. It is possible to chose different lenghts of rides - from 1/2 to 1 hour (of course the longer ride is more expensive than the shorter). In some carriages there is room for four people, in others only two adults.
The driver tells about the sorroundings, the beautiful old trees etc.
For us it was an hour of tranquility, enjoying the beautiful landscape, which is not shaped by man, but by Nature.
Also, you can see plenty of deer in the park, as well as visiting Bakken (the oldest amusement park in the World). Bakken is located inside Dyerhaven. It is possible to park your car close to Bakken.

“Get close to the animals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Beuatiful combination of forest and park. In this tranquillity you walk admiring the old old trees and suddenly a large deer with all his ladyfriends walks only a 100 metres away. No worries...these animals are used to humans..So you stand still and enjoy the majestic view. there are hundreds of deers in the park areas and you are almost guaranteed to have this experience.

“Nice for a picnic.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Really nice parkland. Great trees, lakes, grassland and plenty of deer running around. When we were there it was busy so the deer stayed in one corner but my friend tells me they do come closer. You can look over the sea to Sweden. It is a great place for a walk. There are some nice buildings to look at from the outside, not sure if you can go in any.

“Great open spaces”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

Most people are surprised at the amount of woods and forests so close to Copenhagen. The park is about 1100 ha plus more at the north end of the park.
It's a great space and has options for MTB, Horse riding and walking.
Hard to imagine having this as ones (Royal) Hunting ground. Great place to go in all seasons. some interesting history - There is even an old 'ish military fort here that was buried beneath 300,000 tonnes of dirt as recently as 1968? when it was abandoned.
