Staying at Le Sabot with a group of other people as we set up a business, so we've 'taken over' the site for now. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly (just like all the inhabitants of Bali, really) and really look after us.
The village has 5 separate properties ranging from brick building to open bamboo hut (although 'hut' fails to convey the luxury of the place, seriously!).
Set in amongst the rice fields, within easy reach of Ubud town centre itself (20 minute walk or 5-10 minute scooter ride - plenty of local taxis around too), Le Sabot would make a wonderful base from which to explore the area. 8 generously-sized beds, many rooms with hammocks as well. Plenty f hot and cold running water, a kitchen, and all the tranquillity you could want.

- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Apart from the fact that bamboo is such an amazing and beautiful building material, the most important reason to build with bamboo is that it’s very eco-friendly. It’s eco-friendly because it is a member of the grass family and grows veryrapidly. So like grass, the day you cut bamboo it naturally grows again without need for replanting. In that spirit, we say live earth friendly and GO GREEN! GO BAMBOO! ... more less
