“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Wow, what an experience. There are no many aviation museums in the world where you can get close to the attraction and actually touch it. Well, in this case you can touch them and walk right around them. From the C47 to the Vampire jet Fighter, they are there for the viewing and touching. Very clean, very well presented and extremely well laid out. Have a look for the Bristol Engine as well as the storage of old cockpits out the back. For a 6 euro entrance fee, well worth a visit.

“Very interesting collection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The museum is an advertised stop of the 'hop-on, hop-off' tour buses, but is also accessible by Arriva bus services, with a short walk from/to the stop. The museum is housed in three large hangers, with a few outside exhibits. Admission is 6 Euros for adults; 5 Euros for students or 2 Euros for accompanied children. Credit card payments are accepted, but with a small additional fee. The collection includes about a dozen (more or less) complete aircraft (both propeller driven and more modern jets) and several bits of others. The display is illustrated with hundreds of historic photographs, models and informative signage - some of which take a little time to absorb. The museum is apparently run by volunteers and considerable work remains to be done. There is a small sales area by the entrance, but an informative souvenir guidebook is lacking. In the WW2 Commemorative Hanger, there is a Spitfire and a Hurricane on display with much informative detail about the battle for Malta and the pilots involved. Within the grouds, there is also a small memorial garden, a NAAFI hut -with slot machines for cold drinks- and a small chapel.

“Informal relaxed museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

This is a very informal set of displays which will fascinate many. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the quirky memorabilia. The hangar with a Spitfire and Hurricane on display and within touching distance was the highlight. There was a long but informative video about the defence of Malta in 1942. There is a lot more besides WWII memorabilia, including early jets and small helicoptors. A short visit is a highly recommended.
