“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

We have been for lunch 2 or 3 times over the last couple of months and every time it has great, good food, excellent value and cracking staff. The Glazert is a long established hotel in the area, in fact we had our wedding reception in the hotel a long, long time ago. The hotel is very popular with the local people and is an ideal base for anyone wanting to tour in the surrounding countryside. We will be back very soon.

We have been visiting Glazert Country House for many years for meals and " hatches, matches, and dispatches", but I have never written a review. Every function we have attended has been excellent, and Paul, Debbie, and Mark have made sure everything goes smoothly.
The most recent occasion was a lovely dinner in the conservatory for a friend's birthday, and once again they came up trumps.Paul was there to welcome us, and kept his eagle eye on things throughout the evening. The room and table settings were lovely, and the delightful staff looked after us well, topping up glasses and generally seeing that everything was okay. Our menu had four choices for each course, and, judging by the number of empty plates being taken away, everyone enjoyed their food! I had delicious haggis balls to start, and the soup, pâté, and mushroom bruschetta around us also got top marks. My steak pie was, as usual, delicious, and accompanied by loads of vegetables and roast and new potatoes. I also sneaked a wee taste of my friend's chicken and black pudding in leek sauce, which was very tasty. I managed the sticky toffee pudding, and a wee taste of Himself's apple fritter stack, both lovely.
The attention to detail here really pays off, and if you are organising a function, Paul's advice is invaluable ( I'm sure the others' is too, but I've only dealt with Him!)
Well done to all.

Stayed here for one night for a wedding nearby and so pleased to have discovered this beautiful little hotel. Very charming and cosy in its main entrance and rooms really luxurious with lots of special touches, gorgeous grounds and staff could not have been more accomodating. Had lunch in the bar and breakfast in the dining room and both were fantastic, lovely relaxing place to stay in nice countryside and convenient for Glasgow, Stirling and Loch Lomond, would certainly recommend.

We recently celebrated our wedding in the Glazert Country House Hotel, and were extremely impressed and touched by the sheer effort, dedication and professionalism shown by each and every member of staff at the hotel. Friends and colleagues commented on the friendly, approachable bar staff and the delicious meal both during the wedding breakfast and evening buffet which exceeded our high expectations. The grounds of the hotel were immaculately manicured and feature in many of our wedding photos, highlighting the serene, peaceful greenery and gardens surrounding the venue itself. We could not have wished for a better day, or better venue - thanks to everyone at the Glazert!Gill and Gerry McConville

Arrived at spacious grounds and had a warm welcome. Room No5 seemed to had been a big Garage in the late 70s. Means: Big room / Big Bathroom / direct access from the outside. Not very common, but a nice alternation (and no stairs...).

No traffic around, so all very quiet.

In the evening good food for very low Prices (Food and Drinks).

We will choose this Hotel again, if we are back in that area.

We have just spent a fabulous weekend in and around the Glazert at our daughter's wedding.
The weekend began with a family dinner, followed by the Wedding Reception on the Saturday and then a return to the hotel on the Sunday Night. We were unfortunate not to be able to stay overnight at the hotel as all the accommodation had been taken up by guests from further afield. The Weekend was outstanding and we as a family owe a huge thanks to the management team of Paul, Debbie and Mark who ran the weekend perfectly. Of course we cannot say enough about the rest of the team - from Dave the Chef and his kitchen team to the wonderful bar and waiting staff and to everyone else in the Glazert who worked towards making our daughter's wedding such a success! Thanks again!!!! You are absolutely fabulous!!!!. The Hamilton Family.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful.
